As for EVs, I see the appeal, but I think it’ll take a long time to convert me off gasoline. I don’t even like giving a computer the task of selecting a gear for me, let alone predict which algorithm to apply to individual EV motors based off battery reserve, battery temp, ambient temp, driving mode, gps coordinates and the static caused by my foil hat.
Free charging while flexxing curbs at the mall is appealing though.

 

Those gheyma builds aren't meant for mass production (as in Toyota volume production) and sales. It's simply there to hit the spotlights and advertise ghey accessories to recoup the investment in 12" lifted trucks, rinse and repeat. Moreover by looking at the social media nowadays where most people advertise, tag and review products without officially even being supported by those companies like if they are the "chosen" one makes me cringe. This all went stupid very quickly, a lot of people are now charging others for a ticket to go in the woods and "outdoor experience".

Maybe we should start charging people to go out wheeling, oh wait, we kind of do already... #partoftheproblem #fuckthesystem

Overall, i dig the body. flared fenders, Tundra-esk front facia, i think it has a nice aggressive look. But the proof is in the pudding, How does it perform, on and off road? full electric or hybrid (i didnt read it honestly). If full electric, what kind of range can it pull, especially for the overlanders?

All in all, i think its a good move for yota try and attract the tree huggers and anti-fossil fuel millenials to the 4x4 world. But, at the end of the day, I want my engines make violently controlled explosions and make noise when i push the pedal!

Top picture you posted is a render. Bottom picture is the physical model. Like I posted in the other thread, the physical model in the reveal looks a lot more like a 3rd gen. In fact, it's almost as if they can drop the body on a 3rd gen frame and have everything fit...

 

I'm thinking if this is the way Toyota is going...im hanging on to my 3rd Gen and getting a square body back up!
