That is not correct. You can have up to 3 day trades regardless of account balance. The $25K only comes into play when you are tagged as a PDT. Most brokerages will give you one free reset a year if you want PDT status removed.

 

Everything I've read and watched online shows you can day trade with a cash account unlimited. Funds just have to be settled.

Let me know how it works out. I would bet a large sum of money you get tagged as a PTD as soon as you place the 4th day trade. Then your account gets upgraded to margin per FINRA rules and you need to stuff $25K in it. I know because I'm a PTD in my play account. When I pulled that money out for the car I called E-Tarde and used my once a year reset to bring it back to a cash account.

 

Yea I guess we'll see. I'm just depositing $500 into TD A and will play with it. It's what people that want to get around the $25k rule do apparently. And it's what all the FURUs on twitter tell their followers to do so idk.

 

Weibull’s funds clear time frustrates me, is like a week. I used them to buy SHIBA back in the day. I didn’t know at the time they’re Chinese, maybe has something to do with the time issue.

E-Tarde has a counter as well. Once I hit 3 I know I'm done until it drops back to 2. It'd be cool if there was a way around it and maybe @scottstrong89 won't get flagged. Time will tell.

 

Webull has a good faith violation counter. If you sell something with funds that have not settled with yet you get a violation, but I can buy, then sell same day as long as the funds are clear.

 

RH had the counter too. But like I said, speaking to the TD customer service as well as everything I’ve found online, cash account can get around it. You just have to used settled funds.

NVDA might get a little gamma action if it keeps moving up. Lots of open interest. Next two days will be fun.

 

Same for fidelity. I can day trade as long as the funds are settled, up to 3 times per week
