I wish the seat was height adjustable, just sits a little too low for me.

The company I work for just replaced my work vehicle (previously F350) with a new 2018 F150 4WD. Having this new Ford made left me wishing my Tacoma had a couple things the Ford has (kinda a rant sorry):

    Firstly:

If I could, I’d rip the seats out of the F150 and put them in the Taco. To say the seats in the Ford are twice as comfortable would be selling the ford seats short. They are so superior, it almost made me angry. C’mon Toyota!!! Sure adding power adjustment features might drive up the cost of the Tacoma, but how expensive is Foam?? WTF? Why you do this Toyoda?? Not only are the ford seats fully adjustable, and more comfortable, they also offer more support if you are off-road. Toyota shit the the bed on the Tacoma seats for reasons I’ll never understand. Foam!

    Secondly:

The Ford has some nifty features Toyota could have given us but didn’t.

1-The truck has multiple driving modes that include “Normal / Economy / Sport / Snow / Towing”. All of these modes offer a distinct throttle map, and are available via a switch on the signal lever. The Ford “economy” mode has similar shift points to the Tacos default mode, and the “normal” mode drives similar to the Taco on ECT. The “sport” mode is noticeably powerful, which might mimic the tunes people have been using in the Taco. In short, I see how different the driving experience can be if all the technology in the ECU is made available to the driver to change. It would not have taken much effort for Toyota to have offered similar. Lame!

2- The Ford has a ghee-whiz screen in the “off-road” menu that I think could be useful. The screen shows the power distribution to each of the wheels. A couple times driving in deep crunchy snow in my Tacoma, I’ve been left wondering if I was slipping a wheel. On the Ford this screen shows if the wheels are slipping and the reaction of the traction control system. Not needed, but again, the information is in the Taco computer, so why not show it?

I wish my BSM would make a audio noise when I put my turn signal on and there is a object in my blind spot. It sounds like that could be done in a software update.

You know Ima dreamer, and my heart’s offroad. I had to drive away high, so I didn’t get stuck low. Home Sweet Home...
I do the same. The gas hole is neat, but IMO emblematic of Taconsumerosis... a condition where Tacoma owners find it impossible to stop spending money on mods and accessories, or cannot stand to not have something they see on another Tacoma.

Well the plastic floor option would be for those who use it as a utility truck. MT tires and racks aren't all that quiet either haha

Stock (99.999%) OEM Bed Floor Mat, Front Bed Rail Cargo Net and hooks, Auto-Dim mirror w/Compass and outside Temperature display, TRD Pro Grille, Uni-Filter air pump modification, WeatherTech floor liners f/r. (winter) OEM All-Weather floor mats (summer).
    Pretty short list:
    -Heated outside mirrors
-A normal headlight switch: Off, DRL, Park, head that would just let you reverse the sequence if you want to drive around with the parking lamps on. Nope. DRLs come om when the parking brake is released, start from scratch...Everything goes off with the key... That's nice. ARRRRRRRHHHH !!!! Hard to describe but you know what I mean.
    -Standard bed light.
-Center display that dims with the dimmer switch....jeeze Louise: Pre-Historic: turn on the headlights during the day when it's pouring and the center display just dims and disappears. I know you can overide it but it ain't worth the risk when a snow squall suddenly bombs you. My 2012 "xxxxx" was smart enough to be linked with everything else.
-Illumination on every switch: mirror controls, 4WD rotary selector, window and door lock controls, dimmer control. Cars and trucks that cost less than 20K have had this for years.

Not so short a list afterall. Sorry. ;)

Oh yeah: I forgot: Map lights that come on with the dome light. That damn center lamp is dimmer than a birthday cake candle. And some footwell lamps.

I wish my passenger had power seat as well... Other than that every feature I wish I had I modded to have. Power tailgate lock was a big one for me.

Probably going to be picky, but the only thing I would see I could possibly want is a more modern, self-locking gas door. One where you have a button or latch inside the cabin you need to push/pull so the gas door opens to get to the cap.

Other then that, went in knowing what I would get and not get. Power lock tailgate would be nice, but for me really isn't necessary.

I'd like to have intermittent wipers, 12v in the rear, and turn signals in the outer mirrors.
