I mean don’t we all? I’ve got like 2000+ active hours in the series and every day I’m still like “bro what?”

Can't tell you how many thousands of hours I've got in the game. Played since D1 Alpha. Only quit one time and that was during TBA. I had enough after that bullshit expansion came out. Took a year off and everyone got me to come back for Shadowkeep. Been playing ever since. I'm about the only one that posts in here so if you go back a few pages you'll see that.

Don't use Discord so there's that. None of us play on PC. We're all on PS.

I run everything but I'm mostly in PvP. That's where I spend 90% of my time in game. Run Trials each weekend and usually run VoG at least twice. The new dungeon is good so I'm looking forward to farming that for the weapons.

Only things I have Destiny related is this

And I went on and got the Flawless pin since I play Trials each weekend.

    Speaking of the new Dungeon.

DO NOT RUN IT YET THIS WEEK!!!! The Dungeon is still bugged for farming loot out of it right now and won't be patched until Thursday. If you run it now you will be locked out of being able to farm weapons until reset next week.

Nice. Good collection man. And no worries on discord, I figured I’d give it a shot since the game is cross play now anyway, but I’ve got it on PC and PS5. I forget how many hours I have, I just know on Steam alone I have like 1300+, and the only time I’ve taken a break from D2 was for Curse of Osiris, been back ever since Warmind. Yeah, the new dungeon is real solid, definitely looking forward to getting back in there when I get some more time.

According to Destiny Tracker I have 4025 hours in D2 (and that was taking a year off). I had probably close to that in D1.

As far as playing on PC? We just don't do it or have anyone in the clan that does. I wouldn't care one way or another other than playing in PvP. M&K is by far a superior input device and it just doesn't sound appealing playing against someone that can flip 180 on you. So I'll just stick to console. I do like that they have added crossplay and I have nothing against it other than playing against PC players. But I'm constantly going up against a mix of Xbox and PS players each weekend in Trials so that's cool. I'm glad they opened Trials up for Crossplay like that. I was getting tired of playing against the same teams each weekend even though I got to know quite a few of them just because we played against each other all the time.

    Yeah.
I'm with @4x4Runner on the love/hate. I play in spurts, then I get to a point where I start up the game and am like, nope, not interested in doing the same exact shit over and over again. Then the new stuff stacks up and I get back into it until it starts getting too repetitive again.

I completely understand that. I can't say a word (nor would I) about someone not playing a game. I enjoy it but I also quit for an entire year before so there's that.

My issue with the game has never been about the grind. It's always been about the direction they have taken. I came damn close to quitting during Prison of Elders in D1. If it weren't for Trials coming out with that expansion I would have easily quit. D1 launched in a subpar state. I think everyone can agree with that. But I could see the foundation of a decent game. D2 launched in an even worse state than D1 did. How that is even possible I've no idea? When they dropped The Black Armory is when I said fuckit... I'm out. I wanted nothing more than for Bungie to fail. But when I came back I was a lot like you and had plenty of things to catch up on. And during that time period it seems that Bungie got their shit together and started producing story beats on a regular basis. Seasons to be more accurate.

As far as the grind goes I can see where many people wouldn't like that. I'm different (yeah I know  ) when it comes to grinding for certain things. I come from a long line of MMO's so I'm used to the grind and actually enjoy it. Destiny is a pseudo MMO. But it has enough MMO qualities that are just enough to keep me coming back. Armor crafting and chasing weapons to be more accurate. I love building my character to exactly what I want it to be and having the ability to swap things out for whatever I'm going for. Weapon crafting will soon be a thing and I'm looking forward to that also. But even more that that I love being able to equip the hardest titles to get in the game on my character. Anyone that knows just how hard the Flawless title is to get or gilding the Unbroken title 3 times makes it worth putting on. It was the same thing with MMO's. Equipping titles that were either the rarest or hardest to get in the game meant that you had done the hardest content and completed all the steps to get it done and other players knew that. That appeals to me. I'm an elitist when it comes to that.

But the main reason that I play is because I enjoy the people that I play with. I hate single player games. I do not like playing a game alone. I want to play with others. Hell it's the reason you and I played Diablo. Yeah you can play it in single player mode. But it was much more fun when we played it together. We're running VoG tonight and I really have no reason to play it as I've gotten everything out of it that I can get. But I still enjoy playing with our group and fucking around. That's what keeps me in the game now. Plus this new expansion is actually really good with plenty of rolls to chase.

    Yeah.
Yeah, I need to be more sociable, which is hard when you prefer the company of dogs over humans. You guys are alright, though. The public content still centers on modified horde modes that get really repetitive, but the more interesting content (to me) like the dungeons and raids requires you to either be a soloing savant or play with friends. I don't mind grinding if there is some variety, but I have a tendency to fall asleep when I get bored.

    Yeah.
Which is why Raid Banners are awesome so you don't have to sit around after a wipe to get everyone's supers back up!

As @RearViewMirror says, playing with a group is where it’s at. With my rag tag group we are mediocre at best and it’s fun to get worked over collectively as a team and sharing the misery.

I like this 30th anniversary content and the presage.

I know I’m no good in PVP so I don’t try.

Looks like we need one more. I’ve saved you a spot. It starts at 7:00 central so if you want to be on around 6:50 that will be good. We’ll get you through it.

Took @JayDub through VoG tonight. Only took a little over an hour (secret chests and all) and any of the wipes we had at Atheon was everyone else's fault. I think he was the best person on the team tonight. Was pretty funny when JKF fell off the edge in Venus with the relic.
