Make sure you pick up the 90 degree 1/8 NPT to female 1/8 NPT boost fitting mentioned in this thread. Also need the straight 1/8 NPT male to 3/16” hose barb to thread into that female NPT and hook up to the tubing that leads to the boost gauge.

The gauges are Revel VLS OLED. Purchased from rallysport. Also need the flexpod mount if you want to mount the gauges above steering wheel.

EDIT: The Amazon links no longer work so just search for those fittings mentioned above.

If you had to chose between catted downpipes or catless Y-pipe, which one would it be? Is 2.25” y-pipe ideal size for n/a and sc?

I assume you mean high flow cats in the downpipes? Waste of time and problematic. Just read a thread in the second gen forum about a guy that found metallic sediment in the oil. The guy did a complete engine tear down found no issues. The culprit? One recently installed high flow cat was disintegrating… Recirculating parts of the cat into the engine via the EGR. No thanks. Leave the OEM cats in place or take them out completely. The URD Y pipe removes the rear cats entirely and allows that driver side runner to breath.

Upsizing the piping of the exhaust is only as good as the narrowest restriction. I’ve done this on my 3rd, 4th and 5th Gen 4Runners, increasing piping to 3” all the way out. Sure… there’s additional power but what happens is you start running into frame or spare tire clearance issues with body flex. If you want to maximize power just install an electronic cut out in the catless Y pipe and be done with it. Power when you want it. Peace and quiet otherwise.

I have a Doug Thorley catless y-pipe with resonators for sale in El Paso, Texas that I ran with my twin turbos that worked out well for me. 2.25" diameter to not be excessive

Got all those items ordered - thanks for the reference!
How did you get them wired up? I already have wiring for accessories using up the firewall hole thats under the drivers side foot well. Will I need to punch a new port through the firewall?

Straight behind the battery, down on the firewall, there is a rubber grommet where the main harness goes through. Dont bother trying to squeeze it in there, very tight. I used a long screw driver, taped my wire to it, punched a hole through, and pulled it out on the other side. I mounted mine above the steering column which made wire management super easy.

Make sure to remove that copper boost plug and test the fittings on the back of the supercharger before install day. A lot of these fittings come from China and are not the 1/8 NPT as stated. It should thread easily initially and then start to tighten down after the fifth thread or so. I also used Teflon tape on the threads.

I had my gauges professionally installed. Not sure where they tapped into, assume ignition, and they threaded the wires through the firewall on the driver side.

I threaded through that firewall port for my lighting accessories as well as my boost gauge. Idk if this is the same for you guys with the Maggy kit but for the TTs I tapped here for my boost gauge

Was a PITA to find the proper tee due to the sizes. That piece took me hours to track down online and cost like $15 lol can't remember the sizing, maybe @Turd Hawg does

This is the hole I am using for electronic accessories already. Need a different hole to run wires through the firewall for the gauges.

I should probably punch a new hole right about here. RSG is doing the install. I'll have to have a chat with them about it.

Just cut a larger slit in the rubber below where where your arrow is and feed through there

Is there someone here with a MT and a boost gauge, and preferably wideband, able/willing to test and datalog? Would like to test some things.

Im down if you end up needing a auto truck, I would just have to order a wideband.

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
If you haven't found anyone by the time I get back from this deployment and get a wideband and boost guage installed... Should be a lil less than 2 months...

How in-depth testing do you need? I’ve been considering an AEM wideband/boost combo because I’m a nerd and like numbers. I’m at 6000’ though if that screws with the data.
