lol, it's all good. I'm just glad that
    1) You found out, and
    2) You actually care enough to have the intention to do something about it.

That already makes you a better patriotic neighbor than I assume many of my patriotic neighbors are. :D

Last month, I had another free dealer oil change. Ended up laying under my truck for 30 minutes in the driveway wiping down all the used dripping oil from my TRD skid plate. I then decided why not do my own oil changes and try to avoid the dealership altogether. Excited about adding the Fumoto drain valve next oil change. Here’s the oil change stuff I gathered up. The funnel was expensive, but it screws into the oil fill spout on the engine.

Not excited about doing my own tire rotations though.:rofl:795ACDED-70FD-4834-94DC-B2EE9A135CDC.jpg

So you basically went to an Off-Road without the Locker or the Crawl Control? I'm confused?
Why did you get the Sport?

The sport fits my driving needs better than the off-road. Maybe you aren't aware, it is difficult to get a Tacoma these days, especially a specific order. I signed up for any package Sport or higher (off-road, fine, pro, OK, whatever). I happened to get a Sport. I wasn't trying to go for an "off-road without locker or crawl control." I just prefer a non-scooped hood, more so since it is non-functional.

    > Why did you get the Sport?
You make it sound like the only reason to get a Sport is the non-functional scoop.

Yeah, that hood scoop is pretty dumb IMO. I don't blame you one bit for swapping it out. How did you source the cleaner hood and how much did you spend for the "upgrade"? if you don't mind me asking.

The hood scoop is one of the main reasons I got the sport. I also don't offroad and don't need to offroad stuff from the Offroad line. So it came down to the look

I don't need or want to pay for the off road features -- crawl control etc. I don't like the non-functional scoop. Now I have exactly the truck I want.

Exactly. I also prefer the sport package, but don't like the look of the scoop. So now I have the perfect truck for me.

If you are in the military or possibly a LEO, then these rules would apply. If you read closely the link you shared, they do not apply to civillians. ALL Americans are entitled to wear depictions of the flag, not just those that serve. There are no rules or laws regarding a decal(no matter what color) on your vehicle. Technically, if the flag is depicted in any other color, then it is not an American flag, just a depiction of the flag pattern.
That said, I still believe that if you are going to display an image of our flag, it should be done respectfully and tastefullly. That means it represents ALL Americans, not just your special group.
AND- If you fly the colors, please conform to the rules. Lit at night(or retire it at sundown), half mast on appropriate days(this is where I personally get bentout of shape). Half mast is only for specific days, and other days as proclaimed by the President. Not for anyone that dies, not for individual fire or police, or even military persons, unless the President declares it(we already have specific days for those). State Governors can also declare half ast days.
