Best place for mic is center console, but that takes a small type mic like the one used on 2nd Gen's. (2011+)
    Tundra's also.

Ok, you or anyone else have a part number to the smaller mic switch? My spots are full to the left of steering wheel.

Found the pic below on a Tundra forum, but the number is for the module, not the smaller switch/mic

You find anything else about this? Probably don’t offer it as a standalone

what’s the deal with the hood connector? I have the connector which has the mating plug already (basically it’s not a unused plug) but slightly confused on the instructions or mentions of it here

Couldn't find the small switch mic by itself. It comes with the Tundra gbs package which is $300+. :(

That's got to be just for the switch, but it looks like the regular (taller) one.

I’m not sure. If I knew what fj was referring to then that would help. It kinda looks like another add on to the stock alarm

Just installed this in a 2021 automatic with 360 camera and a Redarc Tow-Pro Elite. Needed a new panel (3D printed from Etsy) to fit it all. Also I'm sure this is noted somewhere on this site but I can't use the upper right and upper left switch positions without doing some modifications to the plastic behind the panel. No biggie as I ordered the extra small positions as spares but just a heads up.IMG_9963.jpg

Just got mine installed on the 2021 6MT taco And works fine. Have not decided if I want to change the switch panel for one with the cubby and add one of those 3 switch plates or just order the smaller mic.

Good info. I'm waiting to install this and pull everything apart with a couple more mods, trying to limit how many times I pull dash parts and panels off.

One thing I found odd, the tall mic "switch" that comes with the kit (bottom right in your pic) doesn't fit in a standard tall toyota switch opening. I've got a different panel and had to add the 3d printed plate in the cubby hole. The mic is actually a couple mm wider. I'm thinking that opening in the OEM panel is a proprietory size. Anyone else find this out?

I did buy the shorter mic that caribe showed above which I'll probably use since it's the true toyota oem shorter version and fits in my panel.

Wired the same way I take it? Any pics to share of both?

Yeah, it's the same opening on the back with four pins on the mic. Although, the oem kit connection only uses two. I'm thinking the LED on the smaller mic isn't going to light up, no big deal.

I'll get some pics this week, was just fiddling with it yesterday and no pics.

Also, the mic I bought with your part number is slighly different than the pic I posted in #43 above. The one I bought is the same size, has an LED, mic spot and just says Security on the bottom and I did buy from a Toyota dealer.

The LED is "suppose" to function as a substitute or duplicate (depending on model) for the vehicle OEM alarm indicator.

As long as the MIC part functions it should be a nice substitution.:D
