21 Tacoma Off-Road...has anyone else experienced a brake pedal glitch. When I apply the brake 90% of the time it has a feedback glitch. Very hard to put into words other than I only feel it in the pedal, it doesn't affect the braking, and it is kinda like it catches on something.
I wish I could explain how it feels better.
    Any thoughts?
    This is my first Tacoma...

Do you feel it when slowing down or when you reach the stop? The hill holder brake assist gives a certain pedal feel when you come to a complete stop.

Electric brake booster doing its thing. Normal. Pro and OR have unique brakes.

Flat roads, all speeds. Most of the time right after applying brake pedal...

It's normal. It's hydraulically boosted instead of vacuum so feels a little different. You'll get used to it.

I def can understand the boosted cylinder, but I have never felt that on any other vehicle I have ever driven. I manage an automotive customization company and have never felt anything like it in any vehicle from cheap cars to Rolls Royce...why is it a tacoma thing? It bothers me so much :)
It is like when you shift gears in a vehicle and it catches when going into the next gear because the syncros are going out...
But I guess if that is something Toyota did and nothing can be done then not much I can do about it...

I wonder how many other vehicles out there have Electric Boosted Brakes, probably not that common.

They're technically hydro boosted which is kinda common. My mustang is hydro boosted (power steering pump instead of own motor) since the motor was too big to fit a vacuum style booster.

You are correct they added hydraulics when they came up with crawl control.

I have the electric brake booster on my truck too, unless the MT is different from the AT but it absolutely does not have any hydraulic assist from the power steering pump. My 2002 Mustang had that type of system that yours has too,.

The booster just fires the ABS module to operate crawl control from my understanding, no additional hydraulic booster.

I walked down to the garage just to double check, no hydraulic boost at all that l can find, but again mine is MT if that makes a difference.

So with crawl control equipped trucks only we have a hydraulic booster for brakes .

Nope. The Offroads have had the electric brake boost assist since before crawl control. Crawl control is just a computer program using the electronic brake controls and drive by wire throttle to control the wheel spin precisely.
