Don't worry guys. I'm only having to work the last like 1" to latch it. It just needs a little extra help to finish squeezing out all the random air and compressing the big ass sleeping bag. The Exped is completely deflated.. I roll it over a couple times and lay on it (until we get a pump) and get all the air out. This is probably the biggest/thickest sleeping combo you could run in the X1. I wanted to see if it would work.. and it does for me. I did the same thing with our RTT for years. Jumped up on top so I could latch the 2 side traps.. then jumped off and zipped on the cover.

I have that little yellow air pump and it works great inflating the mattress! Deflating, had to switch to a different nozzle and stick it in the inflate side to do its work. Had to move the nozzle around as it would suck the top and bottom together slowing the deflating. That took longer than I thought it would, and had to do the rollover/lay on top to get it deflated enough, basically nearly 75-80% deflated to close the top easily. WIP, work in progress, here...

if you can get the exped pump attachment it fits perfect on the dr yellow one. I had picked up the exped pump first but wanted the deflate option.

The yellow one hands down are faster and get more air out than sitting on it. When I started doing that the x1 closed with 2 sleeping backs a down camping blanket and another fleece type blanket.

Just make sure you inflate/deflate plugs are closed. I had one instance where it was not closed all the way and it was strong enough to push the X1 up and started to bow in the middle. But ever since the new yellow pump its awesome.

Tomorrow is the last day. It's getting close but so far @Synergy001 and I are in the running to get our trucks in the TW cal.

Drop us both a "like" to get the X1 in the TW cal.

#9 for me it the front runner with #10 along for the ride. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...mission-2nd-gen-tacomas.746679/#post-26591669

@Synergy001 is knocking it out of the park (too bad you cant see the X1 but even his other pick could win and has the X1) https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...n-3rd-gen-tacomas.746680/page-3#post-26602740

I'd like to add my two cents to this discussion. I have a Big Agnes down double bag that slips over the mattress and has a very low profile. I use that yellow Dr. Meter pump people have mentioned to deflate the mattress, and yes that pump works very well, whereas the ExPed pump was basically useless as a deflator. The few times I didn't deflate fully or left my pillows (yes, plural) up top I had a difficult time latching and I noticed that the top was bowing slightly at the seams on the side, front to back. It also felt like the struts got tweaked a little when one side was higher than the other. As I see it this is basically some aluminum sides and a plastic roof, and while the roof would probably be fine in my experience aluminum bends and is difficult to bend back. For myself I'm not going to put sustained pressure on the two latches and two hinges while also risking bowing the aluminum extrusions and messing with the weather sealing capabilities. FWIW.

    Agree
100% there. If it doesn’t close easy I’m not forcing it. Only thing I don’t put is pillows right now. The dr. Meter is the way to go but with the exped attachment it locks on perfect

    Hi all,
My wife and I just decided on a family Christmas present…of a Super Pacific. I am stoked!

Is anyone open to selling their build spot?

    Thanks for considering!

Well, I appreciate all the feedback and stuff. It has nothing to do with deflating the Exped, or lack thereof. It's deflated 100%.Trust me. Even without a pump. It's just me and my desire to keep our big sleeping bag up there full time. I will work a little extra during close up, which is really nothing. I've adapted over the years with past setups. Some things just need a little persuasion or tinkering to get them to work how you want them to.. or after years of use/abuse. It is what it is. I have no problem "testing" the design and components of things. It may put some stress on things, but after seeing the latches and hinges in person.. and knowing a thing or two about that manufacturing process.. I feel confident in the components enough to try what I want to. Time will tell of course.. and I plan to report all findings.

Slowly getting the solar installed. Fly fishing and surfing have gotten in the way... I'm going to see how a 100w panel work. Thanks to @evdog for suggestions and photos!!

Nice, that wiring is a lot cleaner looking with just a single panel!

"Compact size". but doesn't give specs on size. Or even a picture next to anything for a visual comparison. Horrible marketing.

from what i've read about these units you can only have them installed by a dealer, so DIY is out.

Makes sense, another reason we should care about Dylan Gilbert's Facebook review on the product.
