Its more about how well the battery is maintained rather than distance or frequency of trips. If the car sits the battery should be on a trickle charger. You could not drive a car for years and as long as its been trickle charged the whole time the battery will still be healthy. However if you let the car sit and battery keeps dying then its life is shortened every time the battery is fully discharged. This is especially not good for lead acid but not as bad for AGM.

Batteries are good for about 2 years in the Arizona heat - I feel for the mfg's having to deal
with the warranty scene out here, you only pay full price once out here LOL.

Red-Top / Yellow-Top... I've read lots of reports of lousy QC on those lately.

Can’t speak for current Optima batts as I now have a Bosch in my VW GTI because it was free, but I got 9 yrs out of an Optima red top in Phoenix heat.

Around 5 years is typical battery life. There are only a handful of companies that make batteries, but they put lots of different labels on them. Brand name doesn't matter much. Go with the best service and price. Buy the one with at least the same CCA rating as the one you have. Going bigger wouldn't hurt.

    Wow - that's like fabulous -
I can see it if it was trickled, stored in a garage, possibly a garage with A/C but that is really something regardless of location.

Madmax702. You have done nice work on adding a fuse block and what looks to be relays. I am planning on a few adds and will use your layout. Battery of choice. Interstate

Battery Warranty’s don’t work that way. Let’s assume you purchase a battery and it needs replacing EVERY year and it is warrantied for two. Your second one is warratied but the third IS NOT because all they need to is make you whole for one more year. The clock does not restart on the warranty.

Oh, hmmm, ok didn't know... wife got a freebie on her Subaru when it died after 2 years, my son got some kind of replacement $ or something or other. I figured if you buy a 48 month battery that dies in 2 years you'd get the next one free oh I get it now... then when it dies in 2 years you've had your 48 months... rats... there is no free lunch ( or battery )

My battery is still good on my 2018, but I carry one of those jump things just in case.

When it goes south, I'll replace it with an Advance Auto Parts Silver Series. Last one I had in my Jeep lasted over 6 years.

In Florida, the Silver series (lower CCA rating) would indeed be the best choice for a flooded battery unlike many other areas with a cold climate that require the high CCA's that the Gold would offer. After many years in the battery business, I enjoy reading all the comments here from guys saying to get the battery with the most CCA's when it's not required nor is it advisable for their climate. Vermont, yes. Florida, no. Many quip about all the accessories they run without regard to the RC (reserve capacity) rating which is of course, where their power comes from to run those things.

There are only 3 or 4 lead acid battery manufactures in the US but there are a whole lot of brand names. If you have doubt pick them up buy the heaviest one.
