well i started the lift install today, and lets say that after five years the bolts and nuts are fused. i snapped 2 sockets and stripped my wrench. i also had to cut one of the 12mm bolts on the rear leafs so i could install the AAL. i did successfully install both AAL and rear shocks. then i started on the front and one of my endlinks split open and i can't get that nut to free up. yes i did use liquid wrench, a whole can to be exact. so it is sitting in my parents flat driveway and my dad's vibe is sitting in my slopped driveway. i forgot to take before picks but it's looking good and the bed is at a height that i like. so tomorrow is do or die so i can drive to work on monday.

on a positive note the weather was great, and i worked the whole day in short sleeves.

ok i'm finished with my ranting. tomorrow will be a better day and i will get everything installed.

I hate those rusted ass bolts. I have an impact gun that helps a lot... also, go out there and soak the hell out of those bolts you are having trouble with overnight in pb blaster (i have had a lot of luck with that). If I still have issues, I will spray pb blaster on the bolt and take the little propane torch and heat the bolt up and beat the hell out of it with a hammer or mini sledge hammer.

    Good luck man!

Get a MAP gas torch. MAP gas burns hotter than propane. Almost always does the trick for me at work.

here it is after the lift install. i have to say that i like the way it sits, but the ride is less than desirable. i would say that it's almost worse than stock. it's far to jarring and rough. i have a PM sent to another member that has lifted their 5lug to see what he says. if he says that it will always be this way i may have to take it off and just put on some bilsteins.

^ I'm sorry to hear that. I do know that after I did the 5100's + the AAL mine was rought for a couple of weeks but then settle down a lot. Hopefully you can expect the same. Looks good though!

i don't want to take it all off. i know that it should settle a bit as it's only been a day. just a little bit frustrating. but no matter what i love my truck and am looking forward to the 26th/27th.

i am, just wasn't what i am used to. i still have to take it in for an alignment. it drives straight, yet it just has a bunch of positive camber that i need to have taken out.
