So what's the option on someone getting a TRD Pro grille. Dealers won't sell it, (which to me seems absurd) I get it, but I think it's dumb. I have not found a good quality after market one. I got one from a "reputable" company, but the quality was bad, it seemed 3d printed, the garnish clips were melted onto the grille, and the screw holes wouldn't tighten for sensor. I returned it, and I'm happy company took it back without a fuss. I asked local dealer and they gave me a price, but I guess everyone wants a vin number.
It's so crazy. People want to buy them, they'd make so much money, but yet are worried about people putting them up for sale as TRD Pro's?? I don't know, I really want one, but I never wanted the leather or the upgraded suspension. Seems silly to me.

go to a different dealership. They're trying to make a fast sell. :anonymous:

I paid $350 for a OEM pro grill on Amazon

If you are dead set on an OEM grille, you can find a dealership that will sell one. If you search the postings, there are a few dealers that even deal them online. I think the price I was seeing locally (So cal) was about $236 for the grille alone. If you have the sensors up front the garnish is what will kill you.

I also feel like if you drive a taco, you're most likely an honest person, I can't imagine anyone trying to sell their TRD OF, or sport as a Pro. Maybe I'm just being naive.

Yep…. That’s the insane part. The speculation is that it’s Toyota trying to drive folks away. I have a TW user’s grille in the mail (Fresh Mexican Taco from Taco Garage) so hopefully that lives up to the hype I’ve seen on the forums!

At first, I wanted one too but meh it’s over rated and rather spend money elsewhere. I just ordered a cool overlay from c_mento_taco_808 for my grill. I should be getting it in the mail sooonish.

    https://empyreoffroad.com

Spent about $186 including shipping with "Buy it Now" discount. I have yet to install it.

    Yup.
You’re thinking that Toyota is some nice multinational that should take your feelings into account.
They see you a number and you bought a poverty spec from them. Now you want to make it look like their top trim truck? And then you whine about the price on an internet forum while giving them advise on making money?

    That’s rich.

Here is one on eBay and it's OEM, as long as you don't have a front facing camera: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254442366569. There is also a black lettering version of the pro grill that dealers sell as a "replacement" for the grill that comes in the TRD lift kit, and that does have a place for the front facing camera. It also does not require a Pro VIN #.

Why would you pay $400 to replace your cheap plastic grill with another cheap plastic grill. Once small piece of road debris will destroy both easily. Instead I went with a steel grill, that I can slap with my hand and know it will not crack.

That does look "beefy" but it doesn't allow for Raptor lights...lol!

In all seriousness, I enjoy seeing how other Taco owners decide to personalize their trucks.

Funds availability and other circumstances (like my wife getting annoyed/upset with my add-on purchases) make it challenging to accomplish this task.

I look forward to installing my Empyre TRD Pro Grill with Magnetic Gray letters & Smoked White Raptor Lights. (I bought the Raptor lights from MikeBike357 because he was doing a Raptor Light Delete)

I went with https://empyreoffroad.com/. It seemed silly to me to spend the insane amount for an actual pro grille. So I went with a knockoff one from Empyre and I haven't had any issues with it at all.

I saw great reviews about it. I'm anticipating good results to include putting a washer on the top bolting point to angle the TSS-P/LDA/AHB/DRCC sensor and avoid errors.

True. But the raptor lights are pretty worthless. I just do upgrades that are useful and for me a metal grill is way more useful than a plastic one with yellow lights.
