I received an email from Eric this morning! He sent me a copy of the new FW that is supposed to fix the screen issue. My problem is I need a windows computer to open it, I run Apple.

Ok just so I'm clear you were able to download the update to your Mac then upload it to a TD then to your HU but it didn't do anything? The email I got from Eric said that the screen issue that you had and that I'm starting to see is a FW problem and that the FW update he sent me and guessing the one he has sent you as well would fix the problem.

I am able to download the file from @arcenik link then transfer to TD but when I plug it into the head unit nothing happens. That link is suppose to have other bugs and fixes on it too so it should download to the head unit from the TD but won't.

Ok got it! I will have to wait as it might be a different FW that Eric sent me IDK. I have a way to DL it but have to wait until I get to work. I will post up results tonight after I get home.

For the update you do not need to unzip the file and do not change the name. Just copy the zipped file to a flash drive formatted in FAT32.

There are 2 USB ports if it does not work in one try in the other.

The flash drive also needs to be 16gb and under. I had to go buy one from Walmart. It would recognize my 32gb but it would not load on restart.

Sergeys firmware changes the name of the update file that it looks for.

For our radios it looks for px6-9.0-d.zip

    Sergeys firmware looks for px6-9.0-1024x768.zip

you should confirm with him, but this might fix the issue.

Its actually pretty hard to find a drive smaller than 32gb. Who uses anything smaller than 16gb anymore. :notsure:

I just sent Sergey a message, will update when he responds. I had to try multiple flash drives to get his stuff to work. Was a right pita

I have a 16gb flash drive I got with my MPVI2 tuner from HPTuners - I'm willing to lend, so long as I get it back; I'm in Vancouver (Camas), WA

but honestly, Amazon'ing one is probably faster/cheaper LOL

I actually just tried a 16gb and still nothing. It doesn’t make sense to need a windows computer to do this as I managed to accomplish Sergeys update just fine. I’m running a Mac too.

Apple runs FAT32 file system*; Windows uses NTFS, but you can use Windows to format FAT32

I guess I'm just confused why you'd "need a windows computer" - does Apple not allow you to format USB drives?

EDIT: Technically Apple uses APFS, but that's irrelevant, NTFS is pretty Windows specific, therefore use FAT32 (Apple compatible)
