    Ditto on the above. I can't even remember the last vehicle I've had that didn't have one all the way back to the 80's. The pillar handle location is too far a reach for hanging onto off road, and it's in the wrong place to help boost you up into the cab. I also think it's the reason the left bolster on the driver's seat bottom cushion is always in so-so shape on every Tacoma you look at when shopping used, especially on a 4x4.

    You can replace all of the interior lights with LED. Much brighter, really simple to do. 30 minute for all of them.

    One thing I miss from my other vehicle is the proximity doors. Didn't realize I appreciated that as much as I did! Loving the key blade and mechanical e-brake though.

    I only have a tailgate camera, so I don't know how bad the OEM version sucks. I guess I can alter my ask for "good" 360 cameras.

    I think the 2nd Gen tailgate cam is pretty good. Backing up at night without it would be awful with just the lame backup bulbs and the privacy glass. When I first got the truck I didn't think the backup lights were working at all.

    Power front seats;
    Four wheel disc brakes;
    Eight speed automatic tranny;

    I found the OEM maker for rearview mirrors with Homelink for less than 1/2 the Toyota price - fixed;
    I upgraded the lighting to LEDs, poor OEM lighting - fixed;
    No cargo management rail on the front of the bed even though the bolts are there, got one from a junk 2nd gen - fixed.

    YES!! Why in the name of... Does the driver side not have one? You can't even add one, unless you buy an entire A piller piece, for under $200. Sooooo dumb, IMO. I was pretty surprised when I bought my truck. Doh!

    I'm new, so not sure if it's an inside type joke, but if not, well I'm confused about that comment?

    Why does the gen3 have such a user-unfriendly filter?? For me (I've had a gen1, gen2, and now gen3) this is big step backwards.

    I just want a little lift, bigger tires, leveling kit and new headlamps. Is that too much to ask...

    Dude, your list is my list!!
    My partner's new Rubicon Wrangler has a heated steering wheel and I'm sooo jealous :annoyed: My stupid little hands get so cold when I leave for work in the mornings. I point the vents at my hands, but then the backs of my hands get hot while my palms and thumbs stay frozen. Last year I bought some winter gloves specifically to use while driving :facepalm: Turns out it's super annoying and shitty to drive with thick gloves on, who'd've guessed??

    Did the second gen ever have a driver's side handle on the roof? If so, I'm wondering if the mounting hardwear might still be up there under the headliner. If it was, I'd find one and add it even if it was a different color than the ones in the back.

    No, the OS handle was mounted on the A pillar.

    My 05 TRD OR did not have a camera. I put a light in the 7-pin connector to come on when back up lights were one. Saved my muktuk a few times in winter nights.

    I have cd player in mine but I never use it. I understand why Toyota removed cd player - people have been using bluetooth option for their phones or MP3 player hook up. Or using the flashdrive in USB port.

    If you prefer cd player, then you can get aftermarket head unit with cd player.. Including carplay / android auto. You can look around and find you like at any store such as Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

    Not all models.

    Some models have crawl control instead which it is in same spot where the holder is.

    Agreed. Feels like they want you to have to bring it in for service.
