Now they just have to make an engine like that and they'll really have a car. :p

The rear wheel bearings themselves are average quality but the rear suspension design is piss poor and uses a 14" long cross bolt that bends, shears, or seizes (sometimes the trifecta), making it almost impossible to move the arm to service anything without replacing an arm and possibly a knuckle. I have one and a clutch to do really soon on an Impreza wagon and I'm not looking forward to any of it, I hate working on Subarus.

Yeah, first I've ever heard of any real issues with any of the rear suspension. What year wagon is it?

I haven't found subies to be difficult to work on at all so far. Every time I see something about doing a clutch replacement, they almost always say that pulling the motor is the easiest way instead of dropping the trans. But basic shit like spark plug changes or even replacing a valve cover gasket aren't that bad, just slightly more difficult because it's tight by the frame rails. I've worked on worse honestly.

I've worked on worse, but the sheer number of people who think these are great long life vehicles make these the most common and the most annoying by numbers alone. We will yank the engine out and just do everything while its out. Valve covers, plugs, wires, timing, water pump, accessory belts and idlers, obviously the clutch and throw out as well as slave. I've done enough of them, it wouldn't be so bad if they were less frequent, but everyone here loves these unreliable turd buckets (2.5 wagons, sedans...etc) despite paying a few thousand year fixing oil burning, oil leaking, timing sets that fall apart, clutches that somehow burn more than any brand (maybe a subie issue maybe a subie owner issue haha). I dunno, I guess I don't see the appeal and have no desire to work on them, the handling is mediocre to average, the power is lacking, they're fragile as hell, the reliability is slightly above an old domestic, they do look pretty cool though I'll concede that. This 97 Legacy Impreza wagon at least has a better engine than most, it has the 2.2 so I don't feel so bad urging the owner to put a little money into keeping it on the road.

I mean as far as the engine and trans/diffs? Every seal on the engine was leaking when I bought it and I did them all while it was parked. Plus the timing belt/water pump.

The truck sat for a year sometime in the early 2000s after it was repoed. Original owner racked up 200K on it within 3 years of purchase. I really wasn’t worried about it.

    Thank you! And him!

It’s a puzzle for sure. Looks like it’s been hit in the front driver. It is Kansas, and they’re not as aggressive with the salt as some. That spot looks like regular failed paint to me.

The price is so low though. Which makes me curious and suspicious

it’s an hour and a half from my house, Ill message them and see if they’ll send me maintenance records. If it appears it’s been kept up, it might be worth a closer look.

    Thanks again!

Anamaniacs was great, adult humor wrapped up in a kids cartoon...much like Ren & Stimpy. No idea how that show lasted as long as it did on Nickelodeon lol.

It was originally aired on the Fox network's kids channel then the WB. It was reruns that hit Nickelodeon. Plus it had Speilberg's name tied to it.

Oh I meant Ren & Stimpy, I didn't realize Anamaniacs was even on Nickelodeon at any point...when I watched it was a WB show. I heard they were going to bring it back but I haven't seen anything since

Ren and Stimpy was a weird show for Nickelodeon but it was the 90's. It had to compete with MTV's Beavis and Butthead though so I guess they let it slide.

True, there were several shows that were geared more toward a teenage audience back then on Nickelodeon, probably to keep viewers tuned in as they grew up and started watching MTV more. Roccos Modern Life, Ah Real Monsters, Hey Arnold, Secret World of Alex Mack, etc.

I never went back to Nickelodeon after MTV except for Ren & Stimpy. I didn't want to see little kids being rich little kids when I could see Jenny McCarthy, Carmen Electra and all the bikini babes during Spring Break.

between the moon visor, visor, and hood I can't imagine the visibility when driving that thing LOL

Reminds me of a truck at my apartment complex in OK. The windshield was blacked out with a 4x8 or so box cut out in front of the driver
