It's Friday So...

One of my neighbors in our apartment building drives a sexy Chevy Colorado 4wd truck. It's really attractive and I'm wondering about trading my '20 Taco for a Colorado.

Wondering if it gets better mileage (it would almost have too)? How does the horsepower/torque compare? Wonder if the transmission shifts back and forth endlessly? Will the 3rd brake light leak? Do all the 4wd functions work? Is the frame prone to premature rusting? How do you folks think it would compare?

 

Buy 2. You can thank me later when you figure out why you need 2.

Friend has one and likes it. He trades his in every three years. If you buy one I recommend you do the same.

 

90k review from a Colorado forum….sounds like a wonderful vehicle to own. Definitely do the trade.

I'm not going to get into the line by line dealer drama. Only to say say the GM service departments in my area are low rent and don't want to fix anything.

Drivers window control still not working correctly since purchase (won't go all the way back up and goes back down on its own sometimes). Dealer jacks me around so much Ill probably just wait until it dies completely.

Both rear shocks blown after 20-30k miles. No off road driving??

Transfer case still seeping heavily since purchase.

Fan clutch relay died at 65k ish. Missed diagnosed as fan clutch and sent out of the service drive without being fixed requiring immediate return to dealer.

Right front wheel hub needed replacement at 70k

Rear diff bearings needed to be replaced at 80k.

GM is afraid to service the transmission had to go someplace else.

Other than all that... Just waiting for the next thing to break and still driving it.

Maybe it doesnt have those issues you listed but you might get a cracked block at 50k miles and it sure is fugly

 

Definitely just stirring the pot for some Friday fun glad SOMEONE gets it.

If so, I bet I'd be done by early summer! I drove Chevy's when I was young and stupid. I out grew that nonsense!
