After 2 maybe 3 months of scouting Craigslist, AutoTrader, Cars.com, PickupTrucks.com, Classified, etc.....

Come Monday, barring any unforeseen issues, I should pik up my new (to me) 2003 Double Cab TRD SR5 Limited 4X4 (Lunar Mist).

Just over 100k on the ticker.
Had frame inspection - no rust, dealer undercoated.
    Had the balljoints replaced (dealer)
Had both diffs drained and refilled.

I'll do the timing belt and water pump in the Spring.

    Appears to be super clean.
Fortunately, my Dad had a friend that lives near and he drove over to be my eyes and ears. (I'm a few hours away).

Put a deposit down and will drive up Monday.

    Wish me luck.

    Thx
    jon

It's got the SR5 badge on tailgate.
AutoCheck lists it as: "2003 Toyota Tacoma Limited / SR5".
It's got color matched fender flares and bumpers.
    Does not have electric lumbar.
The varying combinations are confusing (to me).
It is what it is. Soon to be mine.

Will get some picts up when i get out of the house.

Need to pick up some all weather floor mats and some window rain guards.

Yep - pretty clean. I'm picky as he**.
    The good:
Frame inspected last year. passed and coated (fair job - some overspray on underside components).
Ball joint TSB done at same dealer.
    All very clean.

    Bad:
WIll have to do a timing belt and water pump (DIY) in Spring (115k on the clock).
Sounds like a belt tensioner is going - annoying whine.
Some wear on the gray door panels right around the window switches (i'm picky!)
Had to replace the crappy cup holder rubber thingies last night.
Was in a VEERY small bumper bender that tweaked the pass front bumper just a bit.

    Topper came with.
Will prob sell since my 3 wheeler won't fit with it on.
    Ordered a bed extender yesterday.

All in all - I'm pretty happy.

    Thanks all.
My first mods are minor - but still count (since they lighten my wallet):
Class 3 Curt hitch on the way.
Bed extender on the way too.

Existing Cooper 265/70/16 tires are too good to start looking for more rugged 265/75/16 replacements...but i might go ahead and start my search for a 2.5" - 3" lift in preparation.
Eventually, I'd like to have some 285's on it....have to search the forum to see if 2.5-3" lift will fit 285's on stock wheels. Maybe wheel spacers are needed. Will search and see.

Other than that, some all weather floor mats before next winter.

I'm not a huge fan of the color matched flares and bumpers (I know, I know..).
I dig the chrome bumpers and black textured flares on silver Tacomas. Just me.

Technically, my first MOD will be to scrub the Armor All off of the plastic bed liner.
The seller coated it in Armor All. I'll also cut down an old rubber bed mat to fit too.

Any known problems with the Grey Wire Mod?
Seems that Toyota would have allowed locker at any gear/speed if they thought it could handle it. ?????

    thx
    jon
