Longer than most folks now that I switched to 7 day weekends

 

Here's another lunch stop, last week on way home from overnight trip in the snow.
Stopped for grilled ham n cheese

 

Going to hit eagle lakes this weekend

 

That’s gonna be some deep snow!

 

We wanted to do EMT but I guess it’s closed

 

If you mean the MET (Mormon Emigrant Trail) it is closed in the winter and also because of the Caldor Fire.

Dude @GyvesHD you are all over the place. Please please please do some reading, be thorough, don’t go places that are closed. Link up with locals and be good to our outdoors. Stop shit posting places you want to go with no understanding. Do some research first. Be good. Do good. be discreet, pack it in and pack it out, pack out others crap that got left behind, and keep our sacred places sacred.

I think @GyvesHD is just excited to get some wheeling in. Posting ideas for trips in this forum is exactly what should be done. If the forum functions as intended then someone will chime in with advice, a warning, or a recommendation. Everyone doesn’t have the same level of experience or familiarity with the roads and trails, and this forum should be a place of education. I have personally benefited from the helpful shepherding from other members, and try to pay it forward when I can.

So can we plan a snow wheeling trip for mid January? Who’s in? What will still be open and passable? Uncle Tom’s Cabin again? Cottonwood Rd in Stanislaus National Forest? Anyone know of some other medium elevation spots where the snow won’t be too deep for 32” tires and a 2” lift?

 

Haven’t gone anywhere that’s closed I double check before I make the trip. Just a young cat trying to see what northern Cali has to offer I don’t see what’s wrong with that

Just met a group of people through Instagram that know all these places and are somewhat familiar or else I wouldn’t even know they existed.

 

We always respect private property. Like I said I go out out wheelin with people who are familiar with the area. I wouldn’t dare go alone

My condolences to that family. The risk you take going out to these isolated places. You have to be ready so you don’t have to get ready if you know what I mean
