I was glad too let me tell you. Those were tough times for me. I barely earned enough to pay my rent and utilities let alone gas and insurance in those days. I remember being late on utilities and having electricity shut off same time period. I cooked a hotdog with a propane torch once...sad but true.

Exactly -- this frustrates the living daylights out of me...

They have taken the word "adult" and made it a verb: i.e. - "I don't want to adult today". WTF is that???

I realize that I am speaking broadly here -- "We" (pre-internet generations) wanted very much to be independent, do our own thing, have our own money -- to be taken seriously (respected) by people older than us.

Disclaimer: I acknowledge that not all people under 35 are under achieving failure to launches -- sometimes it sure seems that way though... (end of rant, thank you for your indulgence)

Yes, not all kids are the same. My daughter is very opposite of my son in terms of responsibility and just everything in general, she's so much more got her stuff together even more than me and her mother at her age. I think she might have her first and subsequent paychecks in investment accounts o_O
On my son's behalf though, I didn't mature and get things straighten out until about age 24-26 about.
Major difference is had nobody to support me. I've had a regular, " must show up to work job", since age of 15.

1,351 pieces. My back hurts just thinking about it, cause we build them in the floor! Maybe I need to start doing yoga.

I second your Rant !! There are a few younger people who don`t fit this mold.

I am scared as more and more of us skilled labor are retiring My last major job for the most everyone was 50 plus with one younger kid who made it to work 3 times at of 6 for the most.I think he was some Big wheels nephew

I can understand wanting better for your children but where do you draw the line??

I've had a rib out before but it's usually only lasted about 20 minutes. Today it's been 12 hours and counting. It's better, and at least I can take a deep breath without doubling over but it's still touchy. :annoyed:

On the plus side, I got to have Volcano Chicken again so I'm happy. :D
