Yup - Why on earth does nobody want to work at all for us being paid 1$/hour and working 23 hour days?! What is WRONG with people! Then when they do find someone that fits and is willing, they're like "Oh, no, we can't actually afford to bring someone on because Steve took over when Bob, John, and Joe left and he's doing everything fine". There is a level of Bob, John, and Joe were able to be automated out in a week, but there's also a level of - oh, yeah, Steve's on his way out the door because you burnt him out and aren't going to hire replacements because "Steve's got it!"

    ............Sincerely, STEVE!

TBD - looking now to see what's out there.

Deep down, I’m an automotive guy in the wrong job that I have beyond excelled at for too long. I’ve dug myself into a niche on paper that anyone out of the “business” that I’m in doesn’t want to hire. I’d rather love my job and make less money than make money hand over fist and be miserable… first world problems.

i don't know what you do, but have you thought about looking at positions with vendors that serve automotive?

Similar boat. Anything that burns fuel. Especially enjoy the bikes.
But, in reality, I need to feed and house my family, so, getting paid is big time important.

Yup I remember us talking about that Saturday. I was doing one day a month from home prior..wasn't sure if it was a good fit in all but now I don't want anything to do with going back, unless my job and pay rose quite a bit. My role isn't one needing in-person interaction. Let's also say that my values and what theirs are have really reared up in this time (inbox for more if anyone else wants to know) so I could be bought away..

i have not, but it’s definitely something to consider. I do tech-related behind the scenes support stuff for the Court system working overnight.

Morning, not much up here in Fremont NH. Getting over a bad case of gout. Hopefully we don’t get to much snow.

Seems odd. I wonder if they are using radiography to check welds.

The ceiling, or the sky depending on your current location, unless you're in a car.

I have no clue...I saw caution tape I'd never seen before and had to take a look. Nobody on the other side wanted to talk. Didn't see any guys in gear or anything and when I walked back by it was all wrapped up.

The truck in the background looks like Baker Testing Services. They perform radiography using x or gamma rays as a way to non-destructively test welds.

I think you hit the nail on the head. If it was something ongoing, it`d be much better protected and that worker wouldn`t be just wandering through.

Agreed, no ppe and nobody cared. Had to grab 50 feet or so of the caution tape. Might use it for Halloween or something.
