Every good EV overlander carries extra fuel to run the generator that charges there EV truck overnight at camp!

I read somewhere that the ban applies to the new sale of small engine appliances. Current or already owned will be exempt. I didn’t read too much into it so don’t take this for fact. I could be wrong.

A ban is a ban in my mind, being ok with it because youre grandfathered i just selfish.

Not saying you are, just the general thinking.

Also nothing lasts forever, going to need to replace it at some point.

I'm for ev but it seems like a solution that only works for those with money and time. Families that have to share a car or someone that needs to work multiple jobs can't use an ev.

Exactly. I’m not really in favor for the ban. All my stuff is gasoline. Family up in nor cal that rely on their generators given how often PG&E shuts power down due to their old infrastructure. I don’t think California is ready for a huge EV push. The grid struggles to keep up without the added load of every house/business needing to power EV chargers.

This I know all too well. Most of these laws are just feel good, look what I can do.

People that live in nicer areas are shocked when someone breaks any law, OMG you cant do that.

No, they're not supposed to do that. Nothing is stopping them except some general societal social contract that not everyone has signed on with.

"Reduce your usage between 4 and 9"
You mean when everyone goes home ? So just sit in the dark and dont charge your EV.

I find it hard to believe that EV will be as rampant as quickly as people like to believe, considering we can barely keep the lights on during a strong wind...

During the "storm" a couple days ago, my office lights were flickering. If we can't even keep the basics powered...how are we gonna reliably provide power to a fleet of EVs on top

yea so maybe the conversation should be about upgrading our grid and power/utilities, instead of somehow implying that we shouldn't move to EVs because "the grid can't handle it."
