Interesting. I am also 04b14and find the pro to be very nice, but the MPG is far worse then the XT files, in my experience.

I like the overall feel and response but the MPG hit is making me want to go back to XT file and compare more.

When I flashed to the pro, I reset the ECU and did a few full throttle pulls and ever since, the MPG's have been at least 2-3 lower then the xt files.

I am going to try a re-flash of the pro file and see how it goes then.

Overall, KD files are amazing. It would be great to see a more fuel efficient focused file to see how it compares with XT and pro files.

I want to switch over from OVTune 2.0 to KDMax, I already have the orange ODB2 + cable from OVTune along with latest version of VFTuner. What do I need to do in order to flash KDMax Pro myself? I am located in British Columbia, Canada and I don't think there are any tuners with KDMax near me, thanks!

I've been running OVT since 1.03 was released. Been following the tune since way back then and I guess I am still not 100% satisfied with the shifting points although it is still a huge improvement over stock and I do not want to mess around with custom tuning myself using VFTuner. I was recommended by a few to try out KDMax because it's supposed to be better than OVT in the sense that it has more torque in the lower 4 gears and I guess the only way to find out for myself, is to try it out. I also appreciate the fact that KDMax can tweak the tune to your specifications which OVT does not offer and to be quite frank over the years of the OVT development I haven't had good luck with OVT's customer service. Also I suffer from the same plague as do most people on TW... I get to spend more money on this dumb truck just to try out something new.. :goingcrazy:

Re-flashed last night, let it idle for about 10 min and will go for a drive later today.

Very curious how it does now.

    Oh man…
Over the past two days we’ve put over 1,000 miles on. Another 6k…ish to go on this trip. I’ve never been able to pull hills in 6th! Granted, the truck is a frigging wind sail with 2 Roam 95L’s with maxtrax on the lids, and it doesn’t pull big hills, but it NEVER pulled ANY hill in 6th before. I wish i could have felt this when the truck was stock. We have probably 7-800 pounds in it and so many things that hit the wind like a brick and it was getting to be a real pig. Getting on the highway after each fill up makes me giggle like a little girl. Completely changed the attitude. Thank you guys again for this.
