What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

That would have been fine but we ended up with the big one because there were none in stock and I believe it was late Sunday that we were wrenching. Only one they had was the 20 ton and only one available.

BTW- got some skids from you a while back and thanks. Been beating on them every chance I get!

I looked all over for that one but no one had one in stock in a 100 mile radius lol. Even though we hammered them out, honestly, if you know anyone with a press, just use it to get them both in and out. The one that we bought is being kept at @tacobell007 's house in Westfield. You are also going to need a 1 1/8" deep socket .....it fits perfectly to push the old one out and the new one in.

 

Good to know. I work at a shop that just bought a new 150 ton press. Way overkill for shock bushings.

 

Most certainly.....not to mention that you want to use a hand one, not pneumatic, slow and steady.

 

General question. Does the spacer become an issue if involve in a accident? Since the seat brackets isn't mounted directly to the floor, and the increase in height. I don't know if this become the weakest link.

 

That's nice, and the first I've seen like it (not many original mods left out there). How much did this cost you?

 

Possibly. They are solid aluminum bar stock and new grade 8 bolts. I would think the bracket flange might give first and this does change the leverage by changing the angle.

 

This is why I designed mine to encompass the shape of the bracket. I believe the floor would buckle before the bracket would come off the spacer. I have less confidence in something that doesn't cover the whole footprint of the bracket.

 

Oil and oil filter change, added a bit of pink coolant, and new Duralast Platinum EFB battery (27F, of course). Going to try spark plugs next weekend. It will be a first for me.

 

That looks really good. Did you have a local upholster company do it?

 

Yes they appear to just have 2 screws that would need removed. Maybe I'll give it a shot next weekend.

 

Replacing the front brake pads today. The last set lasted 20 months. Towing often costs a lot in more ways than one.

 

Scratch that. There's a ton of pad left. I wonder why that low brake pad squeller thingy is squelling?

Do you have a link to where you bought the blades? McGeorge doesn't seem to have them listed.

 

I went to my local Toyota dealer (A1 Toyota) and told them that I need blades for a 2012 Tacoma. They do sell a cheaper blade that is called Sightline or something like that. I did not buy those. Sorry I do not have a part number.

 

Sometimes the low pad indicator gets bent (rotating tires, off roading, etc). I would just bend it to where it is within 1/32" of the rotor face.
