The microwave hood vents are shit. Due to limited space inside the microwave compartment, they just don't have any air flow. We had a nice microwave over our stove and the smoke alarm would go off all the damn time if we were using the stove top. We ended up deleting our micro and replacing with a hood. Also had to do a new backsplash when we remove the micro. Had a friend of mine make a custom stainless sheet that we used.

Everyplace Ive lived in had an over the range microwave and Ive never had an issue.
    :notsure:

Granted I dont cook very often so maybe someone who cooks a lot would have a problem with it.

Nice. We have an over-the-range microwave that connects to a flat vent that takes the air outside. A small cabinet hides the vent.

Weird. The last 3 places I've lived have had the same issue. At our last place, we did the same thing by relocating the micro and installing a hood vent...

Also, we did a pour in place concrete counter top. Was a pretty easy DIY fix and way cheaper than most counter top systems.

Yep.. I always had gas and loved it. Then we moved into this gold medallion home. Back before the early energy crisis in the electric companies were giving builders free appliances to build these even though the gas company had lines in the neighborhood. The gas company countered by giving away free gas dryers, cookstoves, and gas yard lights.

Electric rates are not bad in my little hamlet. Way back like 100 years ago, the city took over the electric company and made it a non-profit company. So they keep rates low and reinvest any windfalls into infrastructure like fiber optic internet. Low electric rates keep me here when I would rather live in a different town.

The interior design looks like it's half 1970's and half 2010's haha. I bet if you paint the cabinets white it'll look newer.

I think the kitchen is where the fix and flippers started to run out of money. Dumped some new appliances into crummy cabinets.

Words do not describe my hatred of white cabinets.

Lol that's fair. I'm actually a fan of the painted brick, that's a nice color.

Gonna keep the induction cooktop, or go for gas? Quartz or granite would be nice for the countertops.

Gas isnt available on my street. Countertops will be a faux concrete laminate.

Going for cheap but appealing here.

I guess if you don't cook much it's not a huge deal. You must have instant hot water then given you can't run gas appliances huh

Electric water heater. It takes a few secs for the water to heat up at the tap.

I'll never understand how any water can be noticably better than another. It's water

Unless it's tap water coming out of old nasty pipes

Or if it's water that a 2 yr old has backwashed into, that's a taste you don't forget
