Quick question, my girlfriend has a 2021 rav 4 hybrid with 25k miles on it now. The dealer offers free oil changes and it had the Toyota care. I have a suspicion that they haven’t done a thing to the car when she brings it in. They haven’t rotated the tires, that I can notice (no hand prints on the wheel and the front is wearing oddly), they haven’t been adding air when the pressure was low (even though she asked), what was odd for me was that her car was done in a 10 minute span every time.

I know i probably move slower than most techs but that turnaround seems too fast for me. Short of sending off an oil sample, is there a way to tell if they’ve actually been changing the oil?

You can mark the oil filter, tires. I know I can do a 10 minute oil change in my driveway.

I didn’t know if there was a way to check in hindsight.

If they just changed the oil, pull the dip stick, it should be hard to read. Old oil is dark.

Jiffy Lube can crank out oil changes with 10-min turnaround times. Some dealers have an ExpressLube bay with a similar setup, where the vehicles drive over a pit rather than on a lift. 3-4 guys work on the vehicle at the same time.

The 2021 RAV4 Hybrid uses 0W16 oil. I have no idea how dark the oil is out of the dispenser and how quickly it changes color once in use.

This. Old oil is dark, new oil is light. Dipstick is the way.

If you don't trust the dealership, stop going to the dealership and just change the oil/filter yourself, and do all the other basic checks and services that take place during the 25k Toyota Care services. Take the Rav to Discount Tires and have them do a rotation.

    You're done.

You don't have to worry about anything past that. If anything does fail within warranty and it was caused by a possible neglect during the presumed services rendered during the free Toyota Care, it's on Toyota. The dealership signed off on doing said work, so there's that.
