Pondering if I should purchase this since I like the look.

Mainly looking for opinions from people who have installed this and taken it off.

Was there any damage to the hood upon removal. Reading mixed things in reviews.

    Much appreciated.

I used to have it on other vehicles but the one for Tacoma gets double sided tape glued on...I don't like that idea so I'm not doing it!

The only damage I saw was under the hood where you screw it in. The plastic rubbed against the paint and took some off.

The one I’m looking at has clips that tap into existing holes on the underside of the hood and you screw em in.

That’s good to know. Maybe if I put painter’s tape under the contact points, that can be prevented. Thanks for your input.

I put the black electrical tape, painters tape disintegrates over time in hot weather.

I went with the WeatherTech because of no tape. It uses existing holes on the underside of the hood, just put in the provided clips and screws and all done.

I installed AVS with no tape on mine and so far not issues. I took it off this summer to wax under it and no scratches, rubbing etc. I did not even install those little silicone tip under the ends of the deflector and no rubbing there. It is a safe product not to worry about it.
