The difference in gear ratios between first and second gear in the 5 speed manual is too big. It's almost 2:1! Too big.
And the bench seat is torture. I'm looking for a way to replace it with buckets. I see the 2011 regular cab 4x4 is available with buckets. What would it take to acquire some of those?

There's a lot to love about a Tacoma but a few things I would like to see addressed:

    - Useless AC converter
    - No auto trans dip stick
    - heated mirrors
    - heated seats
    - leather seats

...forgot one more thing. A tailgate that I don't have to worry about bending by looking at it wrong.

Toyota offers factory leather and heated seats , but for some odd reason , only in Canada .

I have seen some of the Tacoma's with leather. They look great. I thought I read here on the forum that the leather, even in Canada, is a dealer installed option but I really don't have a clue. I also don't have a clue why Toyota dealers would offer this in Canada and some parts of the US only.

The leather / heated seats is a factory option in Canada , not dealer installed.

I dislike how you adjust the steering wheel column. In my mustang I got use to lifting the steering wheel when I got out and down when I got in... it was a lever that you just pulled towards you... the taco is much more a pain to adjust...

I also wished the back window was automatic.. in a DC, it's kind of pointless as you can't reach back to open/close it from the front seat.

I would have thought they would have made a light indicator when your fogs were on.

Other that those, I love my taco.

Ahhh, I forgot to mention that in my post.

I've seen some mods for one, but never an aftermarket light.

    ^^^

It might not be that noticeable especially at night, but when the fog lights are on the button stays a bit pressed in, when you push it again to turn the fogs off it completely depresses.

Again, its kinda difficult to notice.

The seats are uncomfortable even with lumbar support. My 94 SR5 had way more comfortable seats.
