Lunar Rock Gen III Thread

My '22 TRDOR 4x4 is here! I was so torn between Army Green and Lunar Rock but I am SO glad I went with LR, although AG would have been my second choice.

Snagged a 2022 Lunar Rock TRD by calling a dealer at nearly the same moment the person who ordered the truck cancelled his deal. Totally lucked into this one! We had searched Denver and Peterson in Fort Collins refused to sell us an on the lot Black SR5 because we live outside of Colorado, I should thank them!! Other dealers in Denver are adding up to $5K "market adjustment".

Since I had to leave it behind on Friday, they delivered it to me this morning. Immediately took it to my local photo spot. Already love this thing.

 

New to Tacomas. Mine finally came in on the 15th.

 

How come some come with chrome bumper caps and some come color matched? In canada on the build site, all versions of the off road come with color matched bumpers.

 

I believe the chrome ones don't have parking sensors. So it depends on the technology package on the truck.

 

Another Toyota quirk between the 2 countries. In Canada we don’t get parking sensors, but we get colour matched bumper caps. In the states you need to get the package (tech?) with parking sensors to get colour matched bumper caps

 

Im still baffled at the difference between the two countries. I've been building a new 2022 for myself on the website for the last month and still cant get over how different the options are between the states and Canada. Biggest thing is not having LED headlights in 2022. Without them, the truck looks exactly like a 2016.

 

This is the thing I’m saddest about. $500 upgrade there, like $3000 here

 

New roof racks and black out gauges. Still need to put my smoked mirror indicators on.

 

I was looking into that as well and makes no sense. We have no decent LED light upgrades for less than 2k for aftermarket or 3k for oem.

 

Wait... What are we talking for parking sensors? My truck beeps at things in reverse.

 

Mine beeps too...if there is some cross traffic.

 

Is that rear cross traffic alert? My tundra does that, the blind spot monitor triangles lights in the mirror flash as well. but I didn’t think Tacoma’s in Canada had the little black circular parking sensors in the bumper? For example if you were backing into a spot with a solid object, say a building, the parking sensors would beep and the screen between the tach/speedo would show lines as to how close you are to that object.

 

Yes it is the cross traffic alert..no parking alert. I do wish the blind spot monitoring system would beep when you have a car in your blind spot and you apply the signal light..like most others do.
