Fuel additives?

Just wondering if any of you guys use any fuel additives on fuel ups? If so, what brand?

Also, my truck has about 118k on it. Should I start using the high mileage blind oil or stick with regular?

 

fuel additives are really just a money gimmick. there has been many a test done to prove that most of those things do nothing and the few that do make a minimal increase that is not worth the money paid for the product.

Just change your oil regularly (engine, and all gearboxes) and your vehicle will have a long life.

yeah dont be worrying about fuel additives. as for oils...the synthetic is obviously the best many toyotas go to 300000 miles on normal oil. the most important thing is to use the same thing every time and change it at the proper intervals. I personally dont feel like spending the extra money for synthetic. Ive seen plenty of toyotas live long lives while not using it.

if you want to go synthetic then do it but i dont believe it is essential. not disputing the fact that it is better i just dont think i need it to get 300000 out of my ride. just take care of it and it'll take care of you. Synthetic is better, you just have to figure out if its good enough for you to pay the money for the life of the vehicle.

 

i've read that synethenic may not be the best for high milage tacos. because obvously everything( in the engine) isn't as tight as the day it rolled off the lot so synthenic is more likely to slip past old seals in the cylinders. but im not sure.

any ideas on synthenic vs. high mileage oil???
