Today is my wife's favorite day., cause the days start to get longer. You'd think it would be her birthday, but she thinks the whole month of November is her birthday.

Today is the shortest day of Daylight " Winter Solstice " and in only 82 more days is Daylight Savings time !!

 

Good morning everybody.

Another cold, yucky looking day for us on the shortest day of the year. I do need to rub it in that it will start to rebound nicely and for Christmas we will have clouds but about 75* for a high. Thank you to whoever shut that door up north!

Good morning people! Headed south I spotted a good looking stream or two up here but it’s right chilly up here. Guess I’m getting soft.

I have come to a determination…

Based on posting frequency and times, Either all y’all are just old, get up at 0’dark:30, hit the blue plate happy hour and go to bed by 8pm. Or…. So many of y’all are on the East coast and there’s just a few of us on the West is Best side of the country…

I'm in NorCal. I get up at 0530 since I work 0600 - 1500 (Pacific time). But I am old and broke down (or my body thinks it is, anyway... ).

I took my wife to Grand Canyon NP (and many other NP's, NM's and a couple State Parks and even Meteor Crater) a couple months ago. She'd never been. We hit Yellowstone / Bryce Canyon / Zion Canyon last year.

And I agree 1000% with you on the END THE DAYLIGHT SAVINGSTIME NONSENSE! Pick a time, and stay with it.

 

I'm 2 hours ahead of you or CST and I'm usually up at 0600 hrs or 0400hrs your time !!!

 

I’m not totally sure about the best side of the country part but I will say when I think of vacation spots anymore they are usually out that way. And my standards of what a pretty fishing spot is have gotten a little out of hand. After standing in a stream or two out west. If I could sell out I probably could be persuaded to move west.

 

nope. Just one hour. We are technically in Mtn time this time of year. But yes, 0400 is too early. Which is only 0500 for me. I’m usually stirring by 0530
