    I know what you mean. I just sold this 2wd and bought my Tacoma. I really liked my Frontier but I wanted a 4x4. It sucks that I have to start a new build but it's fun.

    I was really happy with it and the mods worked well. The Frontiers are very similar in size and quality to the Tacomas. I bought mine in 08 and at that time there was no four cylinder Tacoma available in Canada except the 5 lug. My four cylinder Frontier was comparable to a Tacoma Prerunner so I went for it. Last year Toyota offered a four cylinder 4x4 and I was tempted, This year they added the automatic tranny and I got one. My next mod will be lift and tires.

    Well looks is a very subjective thing but I do like round wheel wells. I'm still warming up to the fender design on the Tacomas.

    As much as I liked the results of my Frontier build there were some negatives. Not many Frontiers are sold. That means very poor selection of aftermarket parts although it is getting better. 6x4.5 wheel bolt pattern is a nightmare. Hard to find wheels that fit. Not many suspension suppliers either. The one I used was PRG in California. I used their billet strut spacers and lift blocks and shackles. They also supplied me with the CST spindles, brake lines, Deaver leaf packs, and Bilstien 5125's.

    I really needed to regear it but nobody made a lower gearset than the stock 4:10's. Not many performance options either. On the other hand I had no problem finding a tonno cover or trailer hitch.
