    I know
    I’m very organized.
I had to be with all the fuckin dumb asses and morons I had to deal with.
It’s just transferring over to here.

Hmm, just realized I have to be the same way with the people I have to deal with on a daily basis... Shit, this is happening way too early on in my career...

Ever notice you never meet an old millwright/mechanic/maintenance person who isn't grumpy?

Lots of fuckery, a couple things fuckered, and some people needing to get fucked. Had to kick one person out of the machine they were running today. That particular position definitely isn't meant for them.

Fortunately and unfortunately so. There's been talks of me in management, but honestly all I want to do is fix shit and go home.

I've hit the point where as much as I like fixing shit, I would like to further my career and not hit the wall just yet. Aim for a project lead or something similar in our work.

I always forget they've got shakes thicker than drying concrete.

I still have plenty of room to advance, but I'm not getting into management. Nope, I already see the writing on the wall on that one.

Glad to hear you have room to advance and continue fixing things. I've already hit the top of my path here, so I'm trying to look for ways to expand my role/move up further.

I was in management and they put me back on the line.
The guys liked how I ran things.
    Management didn’t..
I wouldn’t throw the guys under the buss and always defended them.
Management wanted me to work them harder and stay late after hours.
Not pay them for extra work etc.
I fought them every step of the way. I wouldn’t let my guys be treated like a piece of meat.
So in the end, I was treated like one.
I lead by not leading. Guys knew their job. Micromanaging destroys production and
Morale. The place finds its own rhythm. Extra things got done because the guys wanted to,
Not because they HAD TO.. Big difference…..
So, I went back to my little hole and just worked without the other shit added to my daily routine..
IMHO you work for the guys below you. Make their job easier…
Just remember, I told this to an Ahole manager once. I can work without you, I don’t need you, you can’t work without me..
