Timely! Yakima is cutting me a check for my GateKeeper because one of the velcro closures stopped working. Maybe I'll try this one instead and pocket the difference. Has anyone used the Fox one on a 3rd gen? I like being able to fold the handle cover up so I have full time use of the backup cam if I'm not using the center bike positions.
That feeling when your bikes go bouncing down the highway behind you because your scrap wood rack rattles apart.... :pout:

I just cut the flap that covers the camera off my Raceface.

Guess I will see about the Fox pad.

What’s your thoughts on drop shipping items? As in I find a vendor working cheap for parts and I drop ship on Pinkbike as long as they have stock? Lol

In my opinion, people that try to get something for nothing are evil.

I don’t exactly dislike Bezos. Stealing the ideas of merchants that he sells and then making an “Amazon” version is kinda poopy

"Kinda poopy" should be Amazon's slogan.

Amazon ruining South Lake Union area of Seattle? Kinda Poopy

Blue Origin being a bad knockoff of Space X? Kinda Poopy

    The list goes on.

I avoid Amazon on everything I can because generally there are smaller outlets I can purchase from at better prices using codes and such. Amazon does things well, and that’s why they’re successful. Drop shipping is how an absolute ton of people have made their livings. It’s a legitimate area of work. You’re basically driving revenue to stores by doing research to find the best deals. Drop shipping is just another form of being the “middle” man. It’s about what do you contribute with your “middle” man bonus.

So I did drop off the 5010 at the Santa Cruz dealer down the street form the house.

The 5010 had some play in the headset right at the fork crown. It wobbled and felt a bit scratchy.

I pull the fork and the damn bearings are mangled into two pieces and just fell off when fork was pulled. I’m like WTF, I know how many miles are on this bike. I also felt around the carbon inside where the race sits and it had one rough spot. Now time to see how this goes. BTW, the cane creek in the base model Santa Cruz bikes is poop, I was surprised when I pulled it and saw how cheaply made it looked.

That's an original thought. Like you said, many people do this. Give it a shot

As the photo shows, absolutely no clothing options will be offered.

Hard to say no returns on something like that.

Sounds like you were inspired by your Chinesium wheels video. Did you find a vendor out east?

That's not a road I do not want to go down, deciding which and who to cover when they break a carbon wheel when you have zero control over the manufacturing process.

Chinese wheels are everywhere unfortunately. As far as I know the only companies that make carbon wheels in house are Enve, We Are One, and Zipp. I'm not sure which companies make their aluminum wheels in house, I'd assume DT-Swiss, but very uncertain.

Yeah I saw people doing that with the RF. Saw the Fox is the same pad and the RF gets rave reviews. Pulled the trigger on the sale price and Yakima is cutting me a check for the purchase price of my GateKeeper. The rep was upfront and didn't want to give me another of the same product because the bad velcro is an issue. Told me a new version was coming out but will be a few months.
