Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

yeah it’s not the greatest but it gets the job done. It’s not worth selling to get a towing vehicle especially in this market. I don’t have a lot of experience towing but had a friend that tell me I definitely need a weight distribution hitch. I think with a proper setup it will be fine with the Sua kit. I’m going to try it out and I’ll let you guys know how it does in case anyones interested.

 

I wasn't planning on sharing this video as to not get too off topic, but this thread can be all over the place so why not. I originally got air bags but saw this video and returned it for a WDH. It took a decent bit of effort to get the initial setup done, but now that it's dialed in, it drops the front AND rear of the truck 1/2". It also helps with sway control so pulling this felt incredibly stable and safe. I think WDH just aren't as popular because they're just not understood by most.

So, hopefully these hold up a little better than the TCs, much better distribution of forces on the JD ones where the crack is, cracked in the same spot on both sides. I found the old ones to be bent ~3/8” from the hub mounting surface to the UCA bolt hole compared to the new ones.

 

Only one I can find. Not hooked up. But towed this one for 3 years with the taco.

Yeah I just saw that too as I was looking at the Sua kit!

 

How tall are the energy bumps that come with the sua kit? Wondering size wise how they compare to the superbumps and existing towers that you welded on mine. I know they are spaced a little high @81Trekker

 

They will compress down to about 1/2”

Got a promotion at work, so thinking I might trade this solo 2+ kit up for the 2.25+ kit for the sealed uniball and ease of fitment since my shocks still aren’t here yet.

 

Anyone recall the minimum wheel bs for the 4” kit?

 

With spindle gussets you wont want to go any deeper than a 4" back spacing. And even that is cutting it stupid close.

Here’s mine with 0 offset 16x8’s and 315’s.

 

Oh damn thats tight. Did you already have it installed? For some reason thought you just recently decided to get the 4” over the 2

 

I don't have the long travel in my possession yet. But the spindle gussets are going to limit you to a 4" backspace regardless. 3.5 would likely be ideal.

Yours are 4.5" BS though, and that's what Harry has said is the max in the past.

 

I had to wait 4 months to get my order from ADS. Installed last month but they're currently back @ ADS because they were too stiff for my taste. (extended travel 2.5's w/ reservoirs and clickers). Beautiful quality pieces, just one size doesn't fit all when it comes to me and valving.

 

You're correct. I forgot the whole lip deal. So a 4" would probably be best. If I pop a bearing I'll have some problems.
