I was able to park next to an another 3rd gen Tacoma with an oem bumper. The oem Tacoma is a sport and mine is an off-road. I doubt it that the bumper would be different in different trim.

base on the look, the oem has a better (very little) approach angle vs the hiline.

This deal is not on bumper, but Walmart is giving out free turkeys to anyone who can outrun security. :D

It’s not funny to me at all.
Read the posts that you didn’t if you care to know. I was certainly not the only one. Unfortunately I was installing this early on enough where quality and fitment wasn’t so much of an issue at the time. Things change.
I’ve read numerous posts mentioning the very same issues.
And good on that VP for personally getting involved to rectify problems. Big pat on the back and while BA clearly has some issues, as does every organization, they seem to have at least some of the right people in the right roles. It’s easy to criticize when we do not understand and harder to take the time to stop and consider the challenges. We should stop and consider that perhaps he has been brought in to fix these issues or perhaps certain issues within their organization are out of his control and he is trying to make good.
Most times people like that are in that role because they are good at what they do. Orgs don’t generally “hand out” executive level jobs unless your somewhat qualified. He’s likely responsible for production, health and safety, quality, shipping and receiving, procurement and purchasing and who knows what else and likely more than one location on top of having a family. Please consider those aspects before just throwing out comments about someone not doing their job.

If you’ve never been in that type of role that leaves you responsible for making decisions whether 100 people get to keep their jobs or how to recruit 100 people for a big production push because your product is so popular it is certainly easy to criticize and hard to relate.

I’d bet that that guy works much longer hours than the average person.

Once you have been in that role it’s a HUGE eye opener……just say’n.

Hey doc76, don’t take this personally. I get what you are trying to say. I’m not bashing or criticizing anyone. As I mentioned before in earlier post, before I install my bumper, I research around on how to install this bumper. I don’t see anything about the bolt holding the power steering line on the passenger wheel or the issue with the clearance issue of relocating the power steering cooler. I’m just bringing up the issue I encountered so TW members can be aware of. This is what this forum is about and much more. My bad if you misunderstood my intentions of pointing out the issues I encountered while installing the bumper.

I just received my bumper. It looks like it was welded/put together/powder coated over seas, by an 8 year old little girl, with one arm and 3 fingers, while eating lunch on a friday before a holiday. What a mess.

Not sure the problem, coating looks fine and welds look fine. Not the cleanest ever, but they'll absolutely do the job. I don't expect the best of the best when I buy cheap, and these bumpers are cheap, but they are solid and do the job just as well as the next manufacturer of the same type.

Yea I would not accept that. See my pictures above. I talked to the VP and he stated these bumpers should not be coming like this. He then hand picked one for me and sent it out and it’s a pretty good one. After I received two bad ones.

The vendor I dealt with (Wheels Plus More) contacted Body armor and showed them the pictures. Body armor said it was not acceptable and are sending me another bumper right away. I have gaps in my weld, I can literally fit a piece of paper in there. Everything is completely uneven. Looks like the powder coat did not fully dry and now has rust in the coat. Apparently these bumpers are made at more than one warehouse, and certain warehouses are known to have QC issues.

Hard to see the gaps in the pictures. That is definitely no bueno. Wasn't trying to be a dick or anything, just couldn't see the issues in the pictures. I've seen a ton of these bumpers and the welds never look great, that was more of what I meant.

Another successful install without any problems thanks to this thread. I can't wait to ditch the stupid license plate bracket with a proper flip up though.

I just put mine in a vise and bent it so the plate is parallel to the bumper face, looks much better.
