    CAs market is jacked right now. The housing prices here are triple what you would pay for comparable housing in most of the eastern half of the US (minus places like NY, Chi, Charlston, etc...) My wife and I bought last December and the appraisal came in almost 50k less than our offer. But the house would have still sold to the next in line if we'd have passed up on it. The market value on it is now almost 120k over what we bought it at now. Urban migration because of COVID has created this odd bubble on top of the existing issue.

    I m about 40 miles east of NY in Suffolk County on Long Island. Same thing here. COVID migrants from NYC began buying up everything available on the Island. Now, if I put my house up today I would have a stack of offers by tomorrow. That leads to all of these home-sale vultures that know (somehow) that my house is paid off and they are relentless. I get at least 3 pieces of mail a week asking me if I am interested in selling.
