I don’t want to address trail sharing etiquette or tone of posts etc but more the spirit of getting out into more remote areas.

While I think in depth advance planning is a good idea for a lot of trips there’s something to be said for just picking an area and go drive around with no particular destination.

Hell, my 31 day trip through So Cal, AZ, UT, ID, OR and back to CA was mostly unplanned. There was a middle 12 day route planned but the rest of the trip was largely planned along the way. Sure, that was out of necessity from it going from a 2 1/2 week trip to “come back home when I feel like it” length trip.
When I left home I wasn’t even planning on going to Idaho or Oregon but at a certain point I was like fuck it, why not?

Personally I’m more like theesotericone, I prefer to find places all on my own. It’s way more fun that way.

Those type of trips are the best the ones that create memories. I mean we build these trucks for a reason right? No pavement princesses or mall crawlers

In many respects, the Internet has made research easier. People expect instant answers. Wanna be a famous instagramer? Better photographer? How's about an off-road genius? There are YouTube videos for that. Not sure what gear to buy? There are shopping lists. Years of experience don't count for much anymore.

Nope. Light bars make you easier to find in the dark and the light armor means a little less work for my winch when I come pull you out.

I learned the hard way about armor. I don't do a lot of night time off-roading but a few lights never hurt anyone and they add to the badass appearance of my shit.

Even though absolute control is not possible, just like Victor Frankenstein and all parents of kids, the OP has a responsibility to do their best.

haha yeaaah, the truck drives straight still. all i think i need to do is move my tie rods over. I just dont drive the truck enough for it to bother me i guess. My insurance actually sent me a form to sign regarding my mileage... they dont believe that ive only put 12k miles on it in 4+ years

but i will only let Auto Innovations touch my alignment so i gotta wait for them
I need a new compressor to air up with so... i havnt done SHIT since that trip sans a few grocery store trips lol

    Same trip...

I can't believe it didn't knock it out of alignment. Didn't see a rock in the shadows. It stone STOPPED my truck.

Had flashbacks from last year when I blew up my coilover, nearly the same way. But it wound up just fine.

Didn't even realize Jen was filming until later.
