So two weeks before the CFP, Disney and Google get into a measuring contest and Google loses access.

 

I canceled my YouTube tv and the Disney Hulu bundle this morning

I was going to sign up for Hulu Live, but it’s a major pain in the ass because there’s the VZW bundle attached and I need to cancel my account, sign up again, get Live, then reattach my bundle.. because that makes perfect sense.

 

I say cancel both and let them both realize they can figure out a way to get along that benefits the customer or we can get it another way....

 

I stream free channels, Pluto TV etc, have a HD TV antenna ABC, CBS and NBC for free and pay for sling TV during football season (4 months).
My cable internet is $75 a month and sling cost me $50 a month.

After the CFP's I'll cancel sling.

 

Our local city is installing fiber network to offer to residents as an alternative to Comcast... Roll out has been slow but I'm waiting patiently.... They installed in our neighborhood over 12 months ago but haven't tied us in to the network yet.... So until then internet only from Comcast...


I too have an antenna for local stations but reception is spotty at my house... I need to wire one in the attic I think...

I had bit the bullet the week before the iron bowl after suffering through less than legal means... signed up for Netflix, Hulu Disney ESPN bundle and YouTube tv trial....
Today showed me that those less than legal ways are my best option to not get left in the dark overnight

 

I have this one on the outside of my house facing south toward Nashville (70 miles away) I get HD reception on their channels which include CBS and NBC. I get my local ABC channel to complete the big three and get numerous secondary channels as well. It cost $80 several years ago.

 

And like that, Google saw a million subscribers enter the transfer portal and struck a deal.

Google was able to maintain the same subscriber price as well and is giving $15 credits to everyone even though the channels were only down for 1.5 days.

 

I love YouTube TV, but am not happy they got rid of Bally Sports. AT&T/Direct TV seems to be one of the only streaming services that has it anymore.

I didn't care for how Sling set up their plans since I was basically choosing if I wanted the Fox sports channels or the Disney ones and if I wanted both I had to get their top tier package.

Hulu was pretty comparable but you still have ads on Hulu for the same prices and fewer channels (although that's a wash because I don't think I even watch any of those channels).

AT&T is more money per month and it doesn't seem I would even have the ability to pause live TV.

Unfortunately I can't use the antenna either because of where my apartment is located. The surrounding terrain blocks the signals. Even so, most of what I watch is not on the local networks.

YouTube isn’t perfect, but I’ve found the PQ to be superior to cable, and I can pause my subscription with ease after college basketball is over.

I hope covid doesn't spoil the playoffs with teams missing key players. They way the new varient is spreading it could result in games being canceled. This variant is basically a cold it's so weak but if a player tests positive they won't get to play.
