As someone whos only hobby is fishing, I agree. Every fishing trip ends with a lap around the lake picking up bobbers, bottles, and worm lids.

Yes, unfortunately has been an issue locally. Specifically critical salmon spawning habitat.

Specifically, scroll down to 3rd video in link.

Some people just feel inadequate and need attention that's how they seek it. Me I just look in the mirror when I'm done showering. Bald, false teeth and more weight than when I was younger. Enough said. I don't need to add anything to puff me up.

This forum is as social as I get! No Facebook, twitter, etc for this old fart! When I go wheeling it is usually just on forest service roads but sometimes it’s on “roads” that a donkey would think twice about but I never tear up streams, etc. Have fun but don’t be a dick!

I've had 2 windshields cracked/replaced due to reckless (aka speeding) SxS's. Both instances were on a shared forest road, and both times they were speeding in my direction and aggressively swerved to avoid hitting me, resulting in lots if gravel being kicked up into the path of my truck. I reported both instances to both our Warden Service and the local ATV club.

I suggested they consider some type of club liability insurance to cover the actions of these people.

Id want to follow and beat someone.

I do agree that some marketing is at fault too. Look at all the fools in CO on trails they shouldnt be on, but just because youre green doesnt mean anything, you now drive a Bronco.

I turned around both times to try and catch up to at least get a plate/tag #. But they were going to fast and I wasn't going to risk doing to another vehicle what they did to me.

Also, many of the logging companies/land owners put up boulders on the ends of roads to block access. These SxS's always seem to find a way around.

As a young lad, I was deeply involved in Boy Scouts. My troop was blessed with the ability to camp in all 4 seasons under canvas. I forget how many Below Zero Camping badges I earned. Several 9 day trips in the Boundary Waters out of Ely, MN. All the scouts in the troop went camping without cost. This was accomplished with our Fire Wood sales. We were taught to only leave our footsteps after breaking camp or cutting wood or delivering wood.

As my family grew, we spent 1 weekend each month camping. Not quite in tents, but in a folding camper. The training of only leaving your footprints was instilled in my daughters.

The camper is gone, the girls are gone. Although, I still practice the Only Footstep Left Behind thinking. I walk my dog 3X/day (minimum). Each time he makes a sidewalk treasure, I collect it for proper disposal. I do not leave the treasure in someones yard to discover.

This practice carries into our everyday life. Recycle what we can, dispose of vehicle waste in proper collection points, hazardous materials taken to proper place for disposal......etc

No reason to leave more behind than footprints.

IMHO, the only way to subdue this "don't care" behavior is to call the offender out. Yeah, it may upset their feeling and they may go all Karen. Eventually, the message will be received, understood and executed. The 2nd thing to do is avoid giving any attention to the offender.

Just my $0.03 worth. Inflation ya know.....

I would suggest the second option...ignore the behavior.

If you do the first option, the second option cannot be done. Plus, these days...people just need a reason to retaliate.

Embarrassment can be a good motivator for behavior change.

I do agree. Some people have the feeling they can do anything without repercussions.

Society has become afraid of hurting someone's feelings. This was the beginning of the "socially correct" mess. Everyone gets a trophy, regardless.

Whenever I get out to the trails I always drive slow as hell... more than half the fun for me is actually enjoying the scenery... thats why I tend to go by myself or with a very small group

It won’t be long before everything is banned. Too many people and too many people doing stupid things. Unfortunately we all have to pay the consequences

I wonder how many people buy a truck or off road vehicle, just to post pictures on instagram?

The fact social media exist shouldn't have any influence on that purchase.
