They also have a coupon code TACOMA10 for 10% off. So their Sequential turn signals at priced at $62. Super good deal if the quality is there and that's what you're looking for. Plus they are so sleek, it might improve our gas milage....

i know next to nothing on this subject but does the light traveling through the glass impede the charge or does that not make much of a difference? I really like this idea.

I think it's because it's believed/aerodynamic based theory that an open bed with gate closed, captures airflow and decreases fuel economy. That's why some truck owners drive around with their tailgate down thus allowing better airflow. I cannot prove/disprove this theory.

By having a tonneau cover, the airflow does not go into the bed and increases aerodynamics. Of course, I knew about this discussion even before I bought my Tacoma earlier this year.

Whether a tonneau cover increases or decreases your MPG may be a matter of debate and science, but the fact they advertise it as "decrease" is what caught my attention. Again, prob a typo. But just sorta funny.

It is believed that without a cover, there's more drag created by air hitting the inside of the tailgate. When you add a cover, you're essentially creating a giant trunk lid (a-la '92 Monte Carlo) and gaining downforce/streamlined airflow. TBH, I've never read further or done any other research but what I will say is that when I added my Bakflip, the ride quieted down and the truck did handle a little better on the highway with the winds.

I'm gonna add a "Pro" sticker to the tonneau at some point so I can gain 25 more HP.

Shouldnt make a difference really. If it was tinted glass then it would cut output a fair amount.

In the new year, I plan on buying a tonneau cover to protect my bed mat that I just bought for Christmas. I also bought the bed lights which I told my wife will work great with the tonneau cover!

I'll have to test out/validate your conclusion about the tonneau cover...lol!

Not gonna lie, living in the city I was more concerned with someone leaving "something" inside my bed and contaminating the bed mat. Also really like the cover for lockups etc.

I was just kidding. I bought it for the security, however little it may offer. At least what's in the bed is out of sight.

Exactly. It does provide some security. Nothing is ever 100%. But something is better than none.

And the same is true about the tailgate lock. It's great to have. But if you don't keep anything in your bed, may not seem that important to ya.

    To each their own.

    Late to this reply!

I'm learning there a lot of "kidders" here so I don't get upset when someone uses humor to break the monotony of threads.

Got my bed mat for $86 from the same place I got my TRD Skid plate...separate order of course. I also bought the tailgate lock about a month ago; setting up the bed for some sort of protection (I'm gonna get a hard top tonneau cover).

Tonneau covers (at least the quality one I want) costs close to $1K. I'm sure I can find one for less but since this is an investment for me, I want a good quality cover.

Mine is a hard tonneau from Rough country. It can be walked on. I think the bed sides would fail before the tonneau. Being solid hopefully causes some would be thieves to move on.

i totally thought it would help my mileage but my oem soft cover seemed to reduce my mpgs by 1. Certainly chance or other factors contributed. Maybe the weight of the cover made an impact? The tonneau certainly didn’t improve my mileage tho but I love it. Wish I got a hard cover tho, probably more secure.
