the sensor caps work pretty good but just a pain if you need to remove them. they screw on then double lock with extra nuts. So if you don't have the little wrench it's a pain. I keep losing it. And makes that quick air down/up not so quick. I went through the cheap one, mid-model, and then this recent one. I'd say for the one that won't disappear it's the best one.

I haven’t tried looking at my timing at WOT yet since I had issues with my clutch that I just resolved.. but it does look normal so far that I’ve seen to have the low timing at low rpm’s and high loads, I just wouldn’t have guessed to be that low. But good to know it’s normal

Does anyone have/know a solid vender for a 1grfe supercharger? About to pull proverbial trigger and dont want to wait 2 years or buy from a company like mcneil racing or calmini that take your money gladly and then tell you what you want to hear for months until you have to get gruff to get fucking tracking numbers.

I ordered mine this past August from Summit Racing....they have one kit with BD tuner and one without. They had the BD tuner kit in stock, but had to order my (non-tuner/HPT) kit from Magnuson, which drop shipped in 2-3 months.

I ended up getting the Summit store card, which featured interest free payments for 18 months, which was nice. Allowed me to drop the $5k I saved on headers and full exhaust, fuel system upgrades, methanol, etc.....and make payment over the next year or so on the SC.

This may not be where this belongs, but there are 2k posts and it includes discussions of balls and drum sets...not that I mind!!...just suggesting my post may be fair game, lol.

I just completed a SC build (Still TRD SC base tune), which includes:
    • 1GRE Magnuson SC Kit w/ injectors
    • URD 2.6" QC Pulley /Roostfactor pulley mod
    • Stock size belt, but rpm
    • Exhaust cam gears
    • URD LT Headers
    • URD Spec-U exaust (zero cats)
    • AEM Methanol System
    • AEM boost and AFR gauges
    • AEM 340lpm fuel pump
    • Upgraded plugs
    • Volant CAI
    • SAIS delete
    • Rear O2 Sim
    • Fuel pressure mod
    • Boost line restrictor mod
    • Didn't mess with the bypass valve as it seemed to shut well on receiving inspection.
My question has been asked, but I want to learn a bit more than a comparison number if possible.... I am getting about 6 psi and occasionally 7 psi... I was expecting more out of a 2.6" pulley at 1100' at ~60 degrees.

Looking at people's boost numbers on the dyno thread; they are all over the place...even at similar air densities and seemingly similar builds. I understand intake/ Exaust flow have a negative correlation to boost psi...but even with my free flowing/light reving intake and exhaust, I expected more PSI.
    1. Are these numbers in the ballpark for my parts list and 1100' above see level?
    2. I seem to be running fat with the stock SC tune, could I expect more if I burn more efficient?...i.e. timing/11.5 ish afr.
    3. It is possible the belt could be slipping, as the roostfactor pulley mod is only claimed to cover pulleys 2.7" and above...but I am not far off at 2.6" and got the rpm series belt....I would love to get the other pulley mod, but I lack access to a lathe at the moment....lastly, belt seems tight, if o got a whole lot tighter I would worry about snout bearings.
The truck seems to pull well and I am likely going to do a hub dyno tune next month after I install my IPT valve body...so we will see what is what soon enough...but I would like to walk in the dyno with "full" boost. It is also possible the new gauge could be off, but very unlikely.

    Thoughts? Advice?

    Thx

P.s. Full disclosure: I do have a evap code from a fuel fill vent fitting that tried to turn me murderous when I dropped the tank..its likely leaking on PT test......but that should not affect performance at WOT/ open loop.

Nice setup! Mine is nearly identical. Only thing I could suggest is to look into afe over Volant. I swapped over the summer and posted a lot of comparison picks.

Nice...thanks for the link, very detailed post and a clean looking engine bay.

I inherited the Volant with the truck when I got it, but I did just replace the very expensive filter. Not sure its worth a delta investment to change, but something to consider. I guess I could pull off my filter and see if I observe and performance changes...just to determine if it's a bottleneck.

What boost #s are you seeing @ what size pulley?....and @ what altitude/temp? (Ballpark?)

You do have some good unrestricted airflow so those boost numbers may be in line with what you expect. The S/C is rated for 6 psi so with all your mods you are likely back into a nice sweet spot. More boost here is not always a good thing. More heat brings on a whole new set of problems.

I am seeing around 8-9 psi but still choking on stock headers and exhaust. I have quite a bit of stuff on my truck as well and will prob see 6-7 when I get around to the exhaust components.

Thanks for the info, it's sounds like I may not have a problem...but could still do some massaging.

I was concerned with the heat pushing the SC out of efficiency, especially in Phoenix, which is why I put in the methanol system. However, at 6 psi it doesn't really seem to need methanol. I could just use methanol in the summer with mostly water for cooling.

Alternatively, I could run the methanol system full time and get a 2.4 pulley and a smaller belt and then I will be more where I thought I might have been. ...idk, I guess it's good to have options.

Thanks again for the sanity check.
