I’m amazed they still have the button, I can only imagine how many garage doors have had a Tacoma, FJ, or early 4Runner lurch forward and leave a nice beauty mark.

at one point i did to try and improve the feel. it did not improve for me, just a little less return force as you'd expect, and the pedal returned too slowly when cold. i eventually put it back before just replacing the entire assembly with a FJ setup.

Nice. @philth It frosted here the other day and my clutch pedal felt like a puppet. I can’t imagine it without the spring.

Too funny, I just read @su.b.rat ‘s post, I think I’ll leave the spring in there.
I’m up in Canada so I’m all too familiar with all the pedal feels lol
    Thanks for looking out.

Added the TRD shift knob which was a little awkward at first, but after a couple days is definitely my preferred shape over the round OEM knob. Partly due to ergonomics; the goofy shape of the TRD knob affords a lot of variety in where/how you interact with the shifter, sort of a similar concept to adding bull bars to a bike.

Also modified the shift boot because it seemed like a dorky volcano.

I liked it too, before getting my SS knob. Still have mine just in case, probably should pass it on to someone. Having the extra weight really does help with the stock shifter, it needs a bit of heft to get through the gates.

    Looks great!

Can always tuck in your boot so it looks like that, just saying.

Are tunes really worth it for the manuals?

My rig is heavy...lift, wheels, E-Load Tires 287/75-16, front bumper and winch, dual battery setup, and GFC.

Edit: This is my 3rd manual Tacoma to think of it, I've had every generation haha

YES. I have the same specs short of 17" wheels. The KDMAX was the best thing I did..

I might have to go do that, seeing how the tune is not specific on octane now.

Same. I can't wait to get rid of that weird-shaped lump. I ordered a new knob on Boxing Day.

I hate to tell @BudFriendguy that no one uses bullhorns on bikes anymore either because they weren't actually that good ergonomically.

I couldn’t wait to get rid of my ugly stock shift knob, what a weird design.
