They have a triple bulb too. Double does the trick for me.

    ESI: https://extrudedsolutions.com/collections/truck-cap-seal

Some of the leakage is from not cutting the seal correctly for the corners. Have seen people cut separate strips for the front of the shell making a butt joint which leaves a gap, even if they use silicone it can fail.

$550 plus gas and tolls from Southern WI to Eastern Ohio for a Ranch Sierra-Plus. Wrong color and painful drive but love having a cap for many reasons.

The main reason they leak is because of the notch at the front of the bed on either side

that’s unfortunate…something I would be annoyed at, especially spending north of $3,500

It’s actually on the truck and has nothing to do with the camper. It’s a gap in the assembly process of the truck bed. I had the camper co put closed cell foam in there for now because it was too cold for silicone to cure. So I have to wait until spring for the permanent fix.

ayyy i installed this today, I loved how it turned out it leaves a bubble cushion around the whole topper. The dealer where they installed it applied this very thin strip and it was just a terrible job when I was taking it off I noticed the front where I would have the most leakage wasnt even sealed lol.

The kid I bought mine off had it dealer installed, they used the thin cheap stuff and wasn’t cut correctly. I pulled it, and did it right.

Majority of the leaks are from the dealer being cheap with the install.

Yup same here. Paid 2300$ in late 2019 before the whole covid shit happened. I’m pretty sure prices and lead times have gone up the roof. Mines was a PRO TOPS high roof w/ tracks, rack, windoors all around and mesh screen, I basically springed for everything except the carpet lol. If I were to give any advice to me in the past it would be to get a contractor series one from ARE the 48” high roof aluminum, cus diberglass sucks on the trails, especially with the crap thin rubber they gave me it made a small crack in the back of my topper, I have warranty but this is while the covid storm was deep and I wouldve had to send it out and they said it would take months, I fixed it myself. I would highly recommend you bring your own rubber seal, they put some cheap crap on ther.

Yes. But what I am referring to is actually a gap in the bed. It’s where the sides of the bed meet the back of the bed.

I’m sure the RSIs are great functional caps, but some of us simply don’t want to look like a pest control truck. ‍My Snugtop does everything I need of it (and replying to one of your other posts) it doesn’t leak because I sealed the factory gaps in the bed before the topper was installed, which is the cause of the majority of people’s leaks on 2nd & 3rd gen Tacomas - not as much the toppers themselves. Per Snugtop, mine can support 300 lbs. on top (without the Sportsman package, which is rated for 500 lbs.). I think hauling around a gigantic roof top tent stuck to my truck everywhere I go just to avoid the 5 minutes it takes to set up my ground tent a few times a year is ridiculous to me, not to mention I just dislike the way RTTs look, especially on a daily driver. I like camping as much as the next guy, but it’s far from what my life revolves around, so I don’t need crazy load capacity on my roof. I just need it to hold a couple of kayaks or paddle boards. The 300 lb. capacity is more than enough for me.

I got a Snugtop Rebel with windoors both sides, filp-down sliding front window, carpet headliner, LED cabin light, keyless entry, Yakima rails, and Yakima Jetstream rack (rack is backordered and I’m still waiting for it, but it’s included in the price). $3300 installed with tax. Ordered in Sept ‘21 and took delivery in Nov.

For whatever reason, you seem to be on a pointless quest to make sure everyone thinks those ugly square dock boxes are attractive, otherwise we’re loco. You’re allowed to like em dude, and you don’t have to understand why others don’t. But some of us simply aren’t into that trendy overly tactical look… or RTTS… or molle panels… or ditch lights… or mounting traction boards, etc… To me it looks like those caps came straight off a fuckin termite truck.

To each their own I guess. I've had fiberglass shells on all my trucks previously (3) and I absolutely love my RSI way more than the previous fiberglass ones (Innovation, Leer, Snugtop).

    Paid $3600

It's not the shell that leaks in 90% of the cases. It's the bed by the front corners and from under the rails. There's literally a shit ton of threads that talk about how to seal up your bed prior to putting a shell on.

Have read those threads. Didn’t seal the corners on mine and it doesn’t leak.

Yeah…as they say to each their own…don’t care for those, they look like they were made for another truck.
Looks cheap to me, for $3600 they could at least made it fit better, should follow the lines of the truck and go over the bed rails and tailgate.

But hey, some guys love them, and go on and on and on about it…whatever floats yer boat, looks like shit to me. Just not into tacticool or brolanding. Seems like there is a war on camping. Guys dress up their trucks like they are going into battle or something….guess camping is scary. lol!

If I was going to do something like that, would a do Caravan Top.

i actually live in my rig, sooo….not sure exactly what war you’re fighting in your own mind. You should probably seek help for that buddy, especially around the holidays.
