I’m not sure how the standard works. It’s been awhile since I researched all this but here is the basic component that just clicks in to the slot. On my automatic it’s prewired, plug-and-play basically.

I just don’t know anyone who would want the steering wheel closer or farther from them wouldn’t pull the lever and see if it telescoped out.

No need to get all upset about a joke.

It would surprise me if I didn't already know that there are plenty of people out there that can't do anything unless someone tells them they can do it.

It's amazing what one can learn when they read their owner's manual. ;)

At the suggestion of another member, I started this thread to inform all the 2nd Genners out there who might not know that their trucks have a telescoping steering column; I still meet owners who don't know about this, so I figured I'd give this thread a bump...

Reviving this thread; Still amazed by the number of people I've met who have owned their trucks for up to a decade and had no idea it had a telescoping steering column!

I'd forgotten too. I adjusted the steering wheel several times when I first bought my truck, and settled on the perfect position for me. Haven't touched the adjustment since...

Same here. I would push the wheel away if anything.
