What does this even mean? I'm trying to figure out what new thing Tacoma world is mad about now. Do you guys really care about what other people do to their cars? Have an internal chuckle at the extra fake hood scewps, badges, chrome on every edge and move along.

    Hello again.

Not sure why everyone keeps saying to lock this thread. I have seen some not-so-nice comments, but in the end we are all just having a discussion with different views.

Someone above me brought out a really good point: if you de-badge a Pro (or any model), are you now in essence doing the same thing by not having visual confirmation of what you are driving? Thoughts?

In my personal opinion, if you remove a badge or sticker from a vehicle, you're not misrepresenting or deceiving others. You are simply not creating a statement to what vehicle you have.

Now, if a Pro put an SR5 logo on their vehicle, now I believe it would be the same thing as putting a Pro badge on an OR.

The questions that comes to mind is this: you'll never see a Pro labeled an SR5, nor do I think anyone would suggest you should do that; so why do we see OR badged as a Pro?

I'm of the train of thought, as long as youre not selling an "up badged" car as what your trying to make it, go for it and be a poser.

to be deceived first one would have to care. I stopped being impressed with stock vehicles years ago. Proving you can sign a sales order just doesn’t do it for me.

Funny aside, there’s plenty it doesn’t impress. My wife for example when I told her I was getting a Tacoma said “don’t get one of those with the turd writing on the side, I’m not riding in one of those”. TRD wasn’t a great acronym for English speaking countries lol

We Americans are funny people when it comes to our rides, we like to do all kinds of stuff to individualize them and then we like to show them off. Tacoma owners are no different especially since we have the best midsized truck to ever roam the planet perhaps the universe (we don’t know what the aliens have yet but their trucks might be cooler). But seriously, I bought the Off-road because it had the look and options that I wanted and I didn’t give a thought to anything else.
I always say, buy what makes you happy, life is short.

Toyota and Ram have those lights too, it's a legal requirement for trucks once they are over 80" wide I think.

Also now that Toyota has removed the badges off the front of the Pro for 2022 and added the stamps in the rear fenders it would take a real commitment to get one of those put on aftermarket.

I would have to agree...the OR has that stinken' locking rear differential and all that other stuff that comes with it!

My driving is more geared to street so that's why I chose the TRD Sport short bed. I'll have to venture onto the beach for sand action but that's the extent of my 4X4 driving.

I second this - I get more bullshit for the TRD logo/emblem from people who know nothing about Tacos than weather my badges are accurate (I've since de-badged - want to get GOAT Armor). I do however think the guy I work with that has a stock Limited Tundra and huge TRD Offroad stickers on the bedside is an asshat though. With the ground clearance on that thing no idea where he is "Offroading"

honestly nothing insulting. Just implying guys that have these trucks can’t stand the thought of not modding them. Me including. But im also after a more Swedish minimalism look and functionality. At the same time I only use 4x4 when it snows. Just implying that sliders are the new body kits in 2020.

It's your truck add to it or remove whatever you want. :boink:
I put trd pro led headlights on my offroad, because I liked the blacked out look. I like the "trd" and "pro" badging as well. I'm also leaving the chrome grill, chrome rear bumper, and chrome "tacoma" tail gate inserts, because I like them and it makes my truck that much different from every other Tacoma on the road. :bananadance:

Also, the chrome grill and led headlights remind me of Rolls Royce:D

I envy the clutch Bros. :hattip:

Swapping hoods and suspensions and headlights ….easy ….but to convert to stick….the buck stops there.

Only reason I would sell mine right now would be for a M/T .
