Alternative method that might be in that thread but I got a pigtail from Stinger Alternators a while ago that does this but in line direct from Alt. Looks like he has a partner or alt site now for these. There was a group buy thread also for more information https://voltageboostmods.com/

I run full synthetic oil... were you running conventional in the XP filter?

Little late here.. and I'm sure you've got all the info needed.. but just wanted to give some feedback as well. I'm in Phoenix as well with pretty much the exact same setup.. even the IPT kit (you're going to love it, whole other animal). I noticed the drop in PSI when I fully opened up the exhaust like you and I sit right there at 7 PSI myself.

Curious where you're going for the Hub Dyno.. I'd be interested as well. I've never dyno'd the truck.

You are running 0-20? I run 5-30 dino oil but I've been considering switching out to 10-30 just for peace of mind.

Would any of you guys have a want/need for the factory manifolds (or just the cats) off my 2015? They have about 30K on them and are in mint condition.

I have seen you on the forums and have kept an eye out for your truck, as I am in Awhatukee....

Are you running meth as well? Seemed like a no-brainer to add for the summer out here, but at 6-7 psi it seems unnecessary.

I did go ahead and order the 2.4" pulley, the next RPM belt size down, and the MAF....cause why not...I should be able to switch setups back and forth in an hour (not that I will be hot swaping). However, options are good and what's another $250 at this point.

I setup an appointment at Xact Dyno in Tempe for late Jan, so I can install IPT first . It's a hub dyno, so no worries with big tire shenanigans.

I was in turmoil between remote and local, as the remote community knows the trucks like no one else....but the dyno is the dyno. Since we live in the city and Dynos are so accessible, it just made sense. However, I am not discrediting the remote folks, as they do amazing work.

Is the XP better if your running synthetic which I assume most of us are? I have been running 5w30 Mobil 1 for most of its life and recently switched to 5w30 Amsoil. Always used factory filters

How long are you going between intervals?

I would still stick to the standard version. As the XP is made for use with thinner oils and does not capture as much junk as the standard version will.

I wonder if you should jump up to the larger diameter FJ intake and MAF while you’re at it…

    Hey Jason,

    Thanks for the reply....

    Bigger MAF tube....Idk? Maybe?

I just ordered the $100 MAF sensor that was added to page one, because it seemed fairly cheap (relatively) and I ordered it from Amazon (I had GC credit and easy returns)....this way I can put in the 2.4" pulley and install the MAF if I throw a code....and not install MAF if I don't.

I havnt spent as much time reading up on MAF upgrades as other upgrades, but my impression was its based on need (code throwing). However, I assume there is a flow threshold for stock TB and MAF tube...but its got to be pretty high, no?

I am not sure if the MAF tube is being replaced by guys running 2.1" pulleys or what....but, I assume my airflow will kick to the next restriction fairly quickly, but thats an assumption.

There's a lot more to using that MAF than just putting it "in".

And just FYI, we also offer remote calibration services while you're on the dyno. That way you can take advantage of our knowledge and experience of the platform and get your numbers. Also, keep in mind there's a lot more to the tuning we do besides what is shown on a dyno (WOT, and RPM sweep from 2K-5.5K). Our tunes are specifically calibrated to provide more low end/midrange in part throttle conditions where most folks spend the majority of their time driving, not just optimizing a very specific operating area that makes for a line printed on paper.

makes sense. I have not seen a need for it just yet. I try to keep it at 5k or so. My oil end up super dark and I can feel it. the 0-3k is the sweet spot but that's way too pricy to do that often.

If your MAF is maxing out the bigger TRD FJ tube is the way to go.

If anyone needs that Subi MAF from page 1 let me know. I have one that’s been on my truck for a month and will be coming out very shortly. I’ll be switching back to the stock maf.

You know I feel the same way myself. 0- 3K tends to be the sweet spot as well. Anything over is a lot for it and I start to feel it as well, there is this sluggish sort of feeling when driving. My oil comes out pretty dark as well, but I usually wait 5K.

    Why are you switching back?
