Have been snowboarding and skiing at Crystal Mt. for 19 years and still haven’t explored the area. Maybe it’s time. Looks beautiful

Explored southern Utah northern Arizona area. First time taking my new 2021 Taco on deep sand trails. To White Pocket and areas of the Vermilion Plateau. Had no issues at all going up hill and whatnot. Those Wildpeak AT3 tires surly helped so much. I would not have gone out like this before replacing those factory Goodyear tires with the Wildpeaks.

Went there last month. White Pocket is incredible. Hope you liked it.

Didn't look at the distance but it felt like about 12 miles just in the sand.

It did felt a very long time going over sand starting from the valley to White Pocket. My biggest complains was going back because so many freaking vehicles keep on coming and I had to find spots to squeeze around them. Going there in the morning was nice, no incoming traffic and I was the only one heading there, I was the first vehicle to arrive.
I used 4low all the way in the sand, between 2nd and 3rd gear. I only had to use 1st gear once going up a rocky spot since I didn't want to hit anything under so I had to go like 2 mph on 1st gear in 4low.
Did you use 4hi or 4low? I'm just curious what you or others use in these type of sand trails.

Sand trails I have been using 4hi and lower the tire pressure to around 17 psi.

Did a few long sand trails and it worked well so far but it only takes one time where it doesn't. We went later in the day and it was dark by the time we drove back. No other vehicles. Drove from Hurricane as a day trip so spend a long time on the road both directions.

That's good to know. I left my tire pressure at 32 which is what I set to, didn't drop the tire pressure since I wanted to see how it will go on these Falken tires and it went fine without having to drop it.

That sounds rough! I'm glad you're through the recovery. Thankfully, mine is just the fibula. The orthopedic says no surgery, although I'm skeptical that it's going to heal properly, as it's not a "clean" break. (I guess we'll see). He wants to see me again in 2 weeks to take another x-ray, and he may change his mind at that point. You are correct that it is my driving foot. Unfortunately, no bearing weight and no driving for a minimum of 5 to 6 weeks. :(
