For many people treading lightly is just being careful, well its being curtious and having manners off road. Where do yall stand on drinking while on the trail? I’m against it but I see it a lot on youtube.

Drinking while driving on the trail or just after a day or riding and back at camp/home base/etc?

    IMHO......

Driving (anywhere) or operating power tools or equipment after drinking is a sure path to a bad situation.

Witnessed a neighbor remove his thumb with a table saw after about 4 brews. Cripes.....what a mess. Fortunately, his cooler had ice so the thumb was placed in the cooler and then off to the ER we went. After that, I didn't spend any time in his shop.

What’s so insane is it’s the dumb and dumber videos that get the clicks, meaning the entire audience is dumb and dumber. Which is the larger problem that’s getting beyond solving. Idiocracy comes to mind often.

I have no problem popping a cold one at camp, but I see these idiots on yourube drinking while on the trail, rock crawling, doing offshoots or even overlanding.

I could really do with less people on the trails, which is kind of shitty to say because I for one love being out there. We do our best to treat the area with respect and clean up after other people. I know sometimes things get a little out of hand, but what I can't stand is all the garbage. There is no need, just take it with you. I'm all about party favors back at the base camp, but I do refrain when on the trails. I like staying sharp here, we have some real low lifes who run around setting up boobie traps and shit like that. Gotta stay on point here. Just recently here in Ocala a dude on a dirt bike almost lost his head because someone placed a single strand of barb wire across a trail. The wire caught him in the neck and shoulder, mind you it was a bit if a technical area so he was doing under 15 mph. If it would have been in a flat speed area, he would be headless. So, ya thats what we deal with here, gotta stay strapped.

A beer or two at the end of the day doesnt bother me. Turning the wilderness into some loud ass dance party bothers me. I go out there to get away from noise and nonsense.

Mathematically 50% is below average intelligence, but the average intelligence isn’t anything impressive.

There’s been a lot graphs and charts shared over the last couple years. You might have missed this one:

I spend a lot of time on forest/logging roads in northern Maine, especially in Oct/Nov while bird & deer hunting. 2 years ago I filled a paper supermarket bag with spent shotgun shell casings and a contractor trash bag with empty beer cans. Both from driving and walking

That's real dumb and a crime if it's on public roads/trails/etc.

Actually, that's the median, not the average.

Definitely need to stick together and call people out. A certain YouTube clown had some threats when he said he wanted to drive in the lava fields on Hawaii island
