Volk racing TE 37 on my tacoma

Well boys, I bailed out on the TE’s and went with a set of 57DR-X’s that System had on the shelf… Still a great wheel with the Rays pedigree.

Saving a few pounds per corner and having the strength was worth it on my GT-R, but I decided in the end the extra $1500 or so just wasn’t gonna give me any real return for the Taco.

I’m sick of black wheels, so I went with bronze this go round… I’m either gonna love it or hate it up against my MGM.

 

Center caps seem to get a lot of hate for some reason, but I cannot imagine going without… Looks awesome!

I finally got my center caps on. Makes a huge difference in terms of looks. Better than having that empty hole to look at all the time.

 

I see you're rocking the Iconix, do the center caps have issues with staying in?

 

Before purchasing the center caps, I was a bit dumbfounded on how they would be installed. After removing the wheels and installing them through the back, they sit nice and tight, no movement whatsoever.

 

Missing a couple caps on your lug nuts.

 

looks better than i expected but the finish matches your wheels. i have blast black wheels and they're not shiny, so I'm skipping the caps as long as the caps are only available on a gloss finish. i had the caps on the order until that occurred to me, so i cancelled those and plan to run plain w/o caps, just black paint on the axle cover.

 

LOL, yeah, the plastic slowly made its way out no matter how much I tighten them. I just gave up and figure eventually they will all come off.

I agree. I only got the caps since it matched the finish of them rim. When I had my Enkei RPT1 in Gunmetal Satin/Matte finish, it actually looked good without the caps.

 

@itzryyster what lug nuts are you running

 

Blast Bronze is fantastic on MGM (but I'm suuuper bias to BB lol). You can put those wheels on any color truck and they work

 

They appear to be Project Kics R40 Iconix

 

new TPMS installed, hub rings in hand. will mount when ready to deal with any trimming, although i doubt I'll need it. also need to paint the axle covers and drums before hooking up. long time coming to this point, and I'll have an extra set of Six Shooters after these are on.

Hub rings? what are you installing on? Mine fit my 3g perfect.

i don't know how they will fit, but the rings are on standby if helpful.

 

I'm usually big on hub rings, but haven't noticed that these need them. I did need to install extended lug studs though, was only getting 5.5 lug rotations after install.

 

hmm. that's good to know. i may get some in hand just in case, the ext studs... do you have a link for them? I'm on OE hubs, by the way, second set at 89k. these are from @05Taco4x4 who sells the right stuff.

 

I doubt your Volks TE37s (112mm) are hub centric to the Tacoma (106.1mm).
