Depending where you're at, but Mt Hood has some easy/open spots. I'm always keen to go to Hood. We can drag up some propane stoves, have some hot chocolate and hot food, and keep ripping around :mudding:

I’m in Sandy so very easy to go up there. My wife and kids are wanting to go play in the snow so maybe we should plan something soon!

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
I need to go play in the snow soon. All I got is the Power Wagon, but its a hell of a recovery vehicle! If the trail is wide enough....

Its super nice. So far my only issue with it is the size compared to the local trails around here. LOL When in doubt, run it over!

so I'm keen, just wanting to make sure it's still on regardless the winter weather advisory

I don't have chains, so I'll be sure to bring some recovery boards and recovery rope LOL

New to Bellingham and snow-wheeling. Anyone have a recommendation for some easy routes/roads in the Baker area? I only have traction boards, shovel, and axe/saw for recovery gear so not looking for anything gnarly. Just some stuff to enjoy the view and get off the beaten path.

Most of the people in this thread are around the Portland, OR area. Might not be the best thread to find what you are looking for.

    Welcome to the PNW!

Hey folks, cross posting from a thread I started in the North West forum.

Looking for anyone interested to do a day wheeling trip tomorrow (Saturday the 18th) from the Portland area, willing to drive a few hours if necessary.

Also looking for some recommendations on places to go. If possible, would love to do some snow wheeling, but anything off pavement should scratch the itch!

    I'll bring:
    - Good attitude
    - my Tacoma with 35s, winch, recovery gear
    - marginally funny jokes on the radio

    you bring:
    - you + A Toyota

    and we’re good to go!

This is a fair offer and would take you up on it if I still had a Toyota. Lol

Ended up going to la dee flats OHV and it was fun with lots of water, mud, and obstacles in a small area, unfortunately but not a huge length of trail up there.

I'm hoping to make another day trip somewhere in the timeframe from the 29th to 3rd. If anyone's interested, let me know. Also trail suggestions still welcome!

Tillamook State forest has the most 4x4 trails around. Have you been out there before? Looks like there will be snow out there (and maybe everywhere) next week.

There aren't a ton of trails at LaDee but there is a lot of forest roads in the area. Many of them are still closed from the fire though.

As Tim said Tillamook State forest has the most trails (Browns Camp OHV). There is also Post Canyon OHV near hood river, and Jordan Creek OHV in Vancouver. This time of year it's highly likely to run into snow in any of these areas that may prevent you from doing any actual trails. If you hit Jordan creek you will need a WA discover pass.

Those are the main OHV areas in the Portland area.

If you do venture out and risk the snow be sure to be prepared to get stuck. Bring shovels (at least one per person unless you want to dig alone) and traction boards at the minimum. A second rig is ideal. Also a dry change of clothes, food and water in case you cannot get out.

After peeking at your build thread, looks like you are good. Nice rig! Leaving it in there for others.

I might be able to go out with you but I won't know until closer to the day of.

Trails at Jordan Creek (Hagen Creek) are closed for winter now.

I signed up for the Lolo winter adventure. We plan to hit it hard, find the crazy places, and hopefully win some kickass gear. Let me know if you are down to do some winter camping and go wherever the clues lead.
